THE PENDLE HILL INCIDENT 👻
I received this message last Tuesday. They're still terrified.
"It was October 2019. I'd been researching the Pendle witches
for university coursework — obsessed with the history. My mate
suggested we hike Pendle Hill at dusk. Stupid idea in hindsight.
We started around 4:30pm. The weather was clear enough. But
as we got higher, this fog rolled in from nowhere. Not gradual —
it just *appeared*. Visibility dropped to maybe 10 metres.
My phone died instantly. Full battery, then dead. My mate's too.
Around halfway up, we heard singing. Not wind. Actual voices —
like a chant or something. High-pitched, old-sounding.
Then we saw them.
Three figures in old-fashioned dresses, maybe 30 metres away
through the fog. Standing perfectly still. Just... watching us.
We ran. Properly ran down that hill. When we compared notes later,
our descriptions matched exactly. The dresses, the pale faces,
the way they didn't move — just stared.
I looked up the witches executed in 1612. The descriptions matched
what we saw.
I haven't been back to Pendle since. I won't go back.
