Modern-day dance music moves differently to how it used to. Clips of DJ sets are shared via phones, feeds and group chats until a track can feel familiar before it’s even released. experienced the phenomenon first-hand with his 2025 release ‘Step by Step’, a record that had a full room singing the lyrics back to him the very first time he played it in the UK.

What began as bedroom production sessions for the Dutch artist have now become packed clubs and festivals. Commanding these stages gives him the opportunity to share his music with ravers all over the world, as sell-out crowds gather to hear his distinctive synths and hard-hitting basslines.

His rise has been driven by a stream of hit releases, none more so than the ‘Run’ EP on Three Six Zero Recordings , showcasing his versatility across three distinct tracks, balancing vocal hooks, house grooves and deeper textures, with the title-track featuring vocalist O.MMY.

In the midst of a huge summer of shows, the Dutchman took a moment to catch up with Mixmag for the latest instalment of ‘The Mix’ series. Long awaited, Manchester DJ/producer Josh Baker has unveiled his infectious new single ‘My Place’ today, featuring acclaimed singer-songwriter Poppy Baskcomb.

Released via his fast-rising imprint Bakers Dozen, it’s already become one of the defining tracks of Josh’s sets throughout 2026, possessing all the hallmarks of a timeless house record.

The release arrives at a landmark moment in Baker’s career following the launch of his first-ever You&Me Ibiza residency at the iconic Amnesia nightclub, running every Thursday from 2 July through to 1 October. The opening party took place last night (2 July), with Josh delivering a raucous B2B with close friends Prospa - following their celebrated Coachella performance alongside KETTAMA earlier this year - while Cloonee, Job De Jong B2B JWave, Yass and Mali also joined the stacked opening night bill.
