I am pleased to announce recommencement the Open Mic International Music Competition UK to begin during June 2020. I will shortly be in touch with registered contestants the International Competition explaining plans and next step progressions

The International Music Competition for the year 2020 will not incur a registration fee to participate.

All are welcome to join international competition from across the world to compete for the opportunity to become a globally recognised Artist/Musician/ Singer/ Group or Duo. All music genres accepted

Registrations for the 2019 International Music Competition are now closed

We have had an amazing response for this year’s 2019 international music campaign with an astounding 67.49% of registered contestants opting for Performance Video inclusion as opposed to live attendance at audition.

I have viewed thousands performance videos and replied to countless email messages from registered and non-registered contestant from all countries worldwide over the course of the last six months and have immensely enjoyed every moment being in contact with you.

The international competition is about you the musician singer artist/s searching for the big break to get you on the road to success.

Now the registration process has completed we will begin to publish contestant artist performance videos across social media on the run up to auditions and beyond.

Competition website will shortly go offline in preparation for 2020 International Music Competition

I am taking judges chair for the first and only time this year’s live auditions held in London during July-August. Looking forward to meeting and greeting all live contestant artists during auditions

International Music Competition Announces Judges 2019 Competition

Open Mic International is pleased to announce official appointment Phadrea Brickwood to the Open Mic Panel of judges as International Competition Judge the 2019 International Music Competition.

B i o g r a p h y
Phaedra graduated from Wolverhampton University in June 2005 after gaining a Dip HE in Drama; she then went on to study at Birmingham Conservatoire gaining a BMus in Classical Vocal studies.

Phaedra is mentor and Vocal Coach for professional companies. Phaedra's students have gone on to achieve successful music careers, most famously providing vocal lessons to One Direction's Liam Payne

We are shortly to begin promoting contestant videos for the forthcoming 2019 International Music Competition. I have so far as time permits personally viewed every contestant video and am of the mind of the amazing talent so far joined to the competition. Am totally blown away by the sheer force of fabtastic artists entered so far. Am so certain myself and fellow judges will find it extremely hard to find the next winner based upon the amazing skills of our registered contestant artists. We are interested in all genres! Singers, singer/songwriters, rappers and vocalists of all genres are welcome, so whether you’re into pop, R’n’B, opera, Soul, Reggae or acoustic, whatever choice music you like you can enter.


What is expected of you when you enter

Open Mic International provides a platform to help singers and acts get professional and get noticed. You are expected to make the most of this by working hard: Obtaining press coverage and publicity to support your participation in the competition, enlist fans and friends to support you, practice hard and take on-board feedback where applicable. We are looking for serious acts and singers with a strong work ethic, which are essential to becoming a successful artist

Auditions begin Monday September 03, 2018 and finish Monday November 12, 2018 Dates and audition times published Monday 06 August 2018. Entrants will receive and email confirming dates and start times for their chosen audition venue.

Local singer - Cynthia Zietara makes it into final round in international competition

A phenomenal musician from Limassol is one step closer to achieving her dreams. Thirteen-year-old Cynthia Zietara is one of the final 13 contestants out of almost 200.000 singers entered the Open Mic International Singing Competition.

She is representing Cyprus and have a chance to be in the Grand Finale in London. To make it through to the last round and compete for a record deal and prize money of £10.000 she needs to get votes from the public. Only 6 singers with highest votes will be sent to London. The voting is ending in the 8th of August.

Cynthia entered the competition in December 2014 with the Mariah Carey cover “Without you” The song was uploaded in the FB page of the Open MIC and received so many good comments with almost 4000 views.

Judges chose Cynthia to move on to the next round, where she submitted a second video, singing original song - “Embrace my heart”.

While competing in the WCOPA - international performing arts talent competition in Hollywood this month, she received this great news from London form Open MIC that she made it in the final round!!! That was the best moment to hear this news as she was in the middle of the competition in the US and waiting for results of the preliminary rounds. Overall, the competition in the US was very successful. Cynthia was one of the grand finalist performing in the professional showcase. She was also awarded 2 silver medals for vocal pop and vocal variety. But the most important award for her was an Industry Award, meaning she is most likely to make it in the music industry

You Are Good For Me

Helene Tzatzimakis - Final Round Open Mic International

The U.S. isn’t the only country that brings forth great vocalists. Countries in Europe have often had their own shining vocalists. Also the countries that dot the Mediterranean also have brought forth a few. One such vocalist hails from Greece. Her name is Helene Tzatzimakis

Helen’s 2012 debut album, Kirki, was well received and afforded the opportunity to perform for a vaster audience. This popularity ultimately cumulated into Helen’s latest album, which is titled Soulfully.

The album was released earlier this year . It was recorded and mixed by Nikos Pitloglou. The musicians performing on the album were Stelios Chatzikaleas on trumpet, Antonis Arvanitis on contrabass and Manos Anthanasiadia on piano. He also did all the song arrangements. There are ten songs on the album and it has a play time of fifty minutes.

Helen is fluent in several languages. And so most of the songs on the album are sung in languages other than English
Patsy Cline’s version of Crazy was the first I ever remember hearing. Over the years I have heard a lot of other vocalists tackle this Willie Nelson penned classic. Helen provides her own rendition of the song on this album.

Helen Tzatzimakis has already made a big splash in Europe. With this new album, Soulfully, Helen should make a big splash in the Americas as well.
