Whilst not a gunmaker himself, Jonathan McGee has spent the past 14 years shaping the presence of some of Europe’s finest gunmakers in the UK. Originally from North Yorkshire, McGee now oversees the sales, importation, and distribution of two prestigious brands; Kemen and Cosmi.

For McGee, the appeal of fine gunmaking lies not just in performance, but in artistry. Inspired by modern sporting artists such as Charles Evans, Jason Lowes, and David Miller, he draws parallels between their work and the engraving found on best guns. It’s a connection that reinforces his belief that, at its highest level, gunmaking is as much about beauty as it is about function.

At the World Gunmakers Evening, McGee will present a selection of Kemen UK and Cosmi demonstration guns, offering guests the opportunity to experience these exceptional fi****ms firsthand and arrange private viewings.

Taking place on Wednesday 20th May 2026 at the prestigious Grosvenor House, London, the event will once again bring together the world’s finest gunmakers, collectors, and enthusiasts for an evening dedicated to craftsmanship, heritage and innovation.

The renewed partnership with The Gunmakers Trust highlights the event’s commitment to supporting the next generation of talent within the British gunmaking industry. Founded by leading figures in the craft, The Gunmakers Trust provides financial support, training assistance, and educational opportunities to young apprentices pursuing specialist roles within the trade.

As we welcome in 2026, we also welcome in The Year of the Horse. Whist horses are rarely the subject of side plate engravings, and certainly not a common sight in the field, this pair of exhibition grade sidelocks by Westley Richards are exquisite. The Arab Horse engraving sits along side contrasting carved detail, showing of the quality of this unusual build.
