AFOTAMODI UK 2025; WHEN CULTURE CROSSED BORDERS AND FOUND ITS VOICE

Afotamodi UK 2025 was not just an event.
It was a living expression of identity, memory, and pride. What started as a vision, carefully nurtured through months of planning, came alive yesterday in the United Kingdom in a way that words can only attempt to capture.

From the earliest moments, it was evident that something extraordinary was unfolding.
The turnout was overwhelming. People arrived in great numbers, filling the space with warmth, anticipation, and a shared sense of belonging.

A 64-year-old picture of the sons and daughters of Isara Remo in the United Kingdom organising a warm reception in honour of the late monarch, Odemo Samuel Akisanya, at the Strand Hotel in London in 1961.

It is historical and it speaks volumes. I recognised Oba Samuel A. Akisanya, Chief Dele Awoniyi, Sir Olaniwun Ajayi, and Mama. It's an old picture from the early 60s though and, certainly, the patriots here are now of blessed memory but the picture speaks of their input, involvement and inclusion dated back.

This is our time and what are we doing now that will live on because we are not going to be here forever. May God grant us long lives. It is never too late to do something as long as you are still alive. And you don’t have to do it alone. Build a team of like individuals and come up with the idea.
Be sure you will get the support you need from others. Even if you don’t have the treasure (money), sincerely give your time or your talent. All three work together to bring community development.

At the mention of the name ISARA! In the spirit of love, unity and oneness, as patriotic sons and daughters of Isara, we have to set aside our religious, political or personal beliefs to embrace the clarion call.

Tomorrow is another day in London and the sons and daughters of Isara Remo in the UK and Northern Ireland, under the leadership of our amiable president, Engr. Adeleke Adekoya (LIGU) are set to represent and celebrate our hometown, Isara Remo, home away from home at the 2025 Afotamodi Day UK.
