🌠 La Stella

The Star is a card of healing, guidance, and hope that emerges after the storm, often represented as a beacon of renewal and cosmic alignment. Connecting it to this fourth space in The Bloody Poet’s show, the Star becomes a symbol of the revelation brought forth by .berlin’s Butoh performance which mirrors the Star’s promise of clarity after chaos and embodies a mythic return—one that channels Sicily’s primal and spiritual energies.

This dance opens a portal between the past, the present and the future through Butoh, which choreographs the individual as well as the collective shadow. The myth bursts into our reality. It comes from the underworld, from the volcano. It has been summoned. Let it enter. It appears in the form of the Trinacria (trio of Gorgons who founded Sicily), takes the form of Demeter, who carries the torch after Persephone’s liberation, and dances with the volcano that watches it from afar.

The myth is contained in the Trojan women who were distributed as spoils of war. The dance takes place in the same garden where it has been confirmed that the soldiers are now distributing the empty houses to their friends. In another war.

Troina contains a war wound, the machinery of which has prevented Leia’s fiancĆ© from returning. Just as the Gorgon petrified the men who looked at her, the camera that recorded it did not resist the image, so there is no recorded video of this moment. The Gorgon’s revenge remains.

šŸ—¼La Torre

’s performance in the third room of The Bloody Poets show intertwines mythology, feminist theory, and poetry to reclaim and reinterpret the tale of Persephone.

Drawing inspiration from Rebecca Tamas’s Witch and Alice Oswald’s Memorial, Rose brought forth the imagery of unsung heroines and defiant feminine power. This poetic lineage sets the stage for an exploration of Persephone’s myth not as passive suffering but as a narrative of transformation and strength.

Her work is bolstered by feminist theory, including Virginie Despentes’s King Kong Theory, which highlights the stigma around female sexuality and sexual violence, and Silvia Federici’s Caliban and the Witch, which discusses the historical suppression of women’s bodies under capitalism. These texts underpin the portrayal of Persephone’s abduction as a symbol of patriarchal control and eventual resistance, aligning with the potent imagery of The Tower card from tarot as a symbol of upheaval, collapse, and renewal.

Here, Persephone’s journey became a powerful allegory for reclaiming suppressed voices and challenging established structures.

šŸ•Æļø La Sacerdotessa

The second room is a sanctuary of sacred wisdom and inner truth. Here, the Priestess beckons, her voice weaving through polyphonic cadences, inviting those who enter to embrace the unexpected joy that life offers. She speaks of the invisible becoming solid, the eternal gaze of immortal eyes showing us that we are more than mere fleeting beings. In this space, the Priestess offers not just knowledge, but an uplifting energy that calls others to rise above the chaos of the mundane, toward a superconscious unity and the promise of emotional and spiritual transcendence. Here, amid the gentle whispers of cosmic truth, she dedicates herself to the subtle but profound transformation of the soul, urging all who listen to refine their thoughts, character, and the very essence of their being.

ā€˜The purpose of the cosmos consists in the thrill of emotional accomplishment of its beings. It longs for us to achieve elevated cognition and the exulted emotion of humour. I will encourage all to hone the quality of their thoughts and courtesy of their character. I’d rather have a beautiful level of being than a high status. I care more about finding my distinctive tone in the sovereign order and discovering rare nuances of love. I can become the subtle difference that makes the difference.’
