We are excited to announce that with funding from we are looking for a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Part Time Cataloguing Assistant to join our team to support the logging and organisation of Tim Brunsden’s video archive.

The role involve cataloguing MiniDV tapes and hard drive material, recording metadata, and helping to make this important
LGBTQ+ cultural archive more accessible.

We're especially keen to hear from people with an interest in archives, community arts, LGBTQ+ heritage, and digital storytelling.

Specific digitisation training will be provided by the North West Film Archive as part of the project along with visits to the Bishopsgate Institute in London. Deadline for applications - Midday on Tuesday 7th April 26.

On Tuesday was invited to to talk about our project Saving video archive. Some interesting connections were made and looking at ways to share skills and good practice when looking to archive video material. All to follow up.

Excited to announce the first in a series of creative workshops, a final part of our Creative St Helens 82-95 project.

These workshops are free but spaces are limited - book via our bio link.

ABOUT THE COURSE

The Documentary Impulse is a workshop aimed at producing a series of images to tell a story visually. The title is taken from the book of the same title by Stuart Franklin, who famously photographed the 'tank man' image in Beijing, China.

The workshop will be split into two distinct parts; a photographic safari looking for eight specific images:

A close-up image or detail

A landscape image

A portrait (candid or posed)

An unusual viewpoint

Letters in the environment

An abstract image

Colour

An image showing pattern or texture

followed by (after a short break) a look at editing digital images using Adobe Photoshop and / or Lightroom.

The workshop will be led by Barry Gore, an experienced teacher and photographer. He has been involved with the arts scene since the mid-1980s, as a musician, photographer and graphic designer. He currently works as a teacher of Art and Photography at a Pupil Referral Unit

Another two sold out screenings of our film at Lucem House on Wednesday last week. The film is part of project funded by

It looks back on the creative scene in St Helens between 82-95, looking at what enabled it to happen and can this happen again.

Some fantastic discussions and interesting connections followed each screening.

Well, what a fantastic evening we had on Saturday with the official premier of our film written and produced by The film looks at the creative underground in St Helens from 1982 to 1995 and reflects on future possibilities for the town.

There was a lively debate following the film screening after a Q&A from the panel.

The film is a screening again on 6th Dec at 2pm and 5pm. Link in the bio.
