Our full programme is online and for £28 you can:
✨ Watch all 55 short films�📅 Watch anytime from 4 September–5 October 2026�🌍 Stream from anywhere in the world�💬 Enjoy captioned films�⏯️ Watch at your own pace throughout the festival period

Expect funny, moving, fearless and surprising stories from filmmakers of all nationalities, genders, ages and experiences, all putting older women at the heart of the story whether onscreen or behind the camera.

There are two ways to join the Women Over 50 Film Festival.

You can join us online for our full programme of 57 short films or meet us in person at Depot Cinema to watch a curated selected from the full programme and attend the WOFFF awards ceremony where we celebrate the stand out films in each genre.

Come to Depot Cinema on Sat 5 September for a specially selected programme of 23 short films made by or about women over 50.

When you come to Depot you’ll be thoroughly welcomed by our WOFFF team and as well as seeing a selection of brilliant short films, you’ll get to be part of the celebrations at the WOFFF Awards Ceremony.

A full day pass for 5 September is £30, available from the Depot website.

WOFFF Online is where you can enjoy our full programme for 2026. 57 short films, made by or about women over 50, from filmmakers of all nationalities, genders and ages.

You’ll be able to watch on demand, as much or as little as you like, from 4 Sept to 5 Oct.

For just £28, journey through funny, fearless, moving and surprising stories from filmmakers around the world, all celebrating women over 50, on screen and behind the camera.

Watch when you want, where you want, throughout the festival month. We’ve got animations, documentaries, dramas and comedies as well as experimental films, so you’re guaranteed to find something that suits your mood.

WOFFF26 is online from 4 September to 5 October, you can watch from anywhere in the world.

WOFFF heads HOME next week, Wednesday 12 August

Join us at HOME, Manchester for a selection of short films showcasing stories of the world as it is and as it should be.

Films screening in this programme are:

Old Girl in a Tutu - dir. Cheri Gaulke
My Dad, Guyana and Me - dir. Noella Mingo
Somber Tides - dir. Chantal Caron
Looking for Alan - dir. Gareth McCann
Gossip/Clecs - dir. Harri Shanahan
Chai-Coffi - dir. Sanjoli Malani
Pegs & Bacon (pictured) - dir. Sarah Mason

After the films, there will be a Q&A with Sarah Mason, director of Pegs & Bacon.

What a colourful time we had at the Womens Museum recently screening a selection of short films designed for people living with dementia and their families, friends and carers, in collaboration with Film London.

The theme of the season is 'Materiality of Memory' which explores how memories are held, shaped, and passed on, and whose stories are preserved within cultural history.

We were delighted to welcome filmmaker Anita (Anita Albrecht) and staff and residents of Forest View Care Home as audience members. We watched short films, chatted about them and got creative with colouring and drawing. We really loved Luke's modern art interpretation of 'Linda'. That's some serious materiality of memory right there!

The community event was made possible because of support from TNL Community Fund and Film London

Big thanks to Sophia & everyone at the Women's Museum (Women’s Museum) and Moira (Moira Hallam) from Film London.

Submissions to WOFFF26 may be officially closed, but there are still a few days left to submit a script or a film by requesting a Late Submission Waiver code from us. DM us to ask for the code or request a waiver via FilmFreeway by 25 June.

If you've got a script or a short film by or about women over 50, and you didn't manage to submit yet, now's your chance!

There’s just one day left to submit your short script to the Women Over 50 Film Festival 2026

We’re looking for short drama scripts, by or about women over 50 to be considered in our Best Short Script Prize in partnership with Shedunnit Productions.

Your short script must have a woman over 50 as a central character or be written by a woman over 50.

We’re looking for original drama stories that have not yet been produced.

Submit by 22 June via our FilmFreeway page - link in bio.

It’s your last chance to submit a short film to our festival this year.

We’re looking for animations, comedies, dramas, documentaries or experimental films to be part of our 2026 programme. Selected films will be screened worldwide as part of our online festival in September this year.

Your film must have a woman over 50 as a central character or have a woman over 50 in the core creative team - that is as a writer, director or producer.

Submission fees apply and student films are free to submit.
