My new winter pickling magic ✨
Inspired by Ô Mai from Vietnam — those deep, tangy fermented plums that taste like childhood and New Year gatherings. I layered fresh ribbons of veg with cinnamon, citrus peel, chilli flakes, and chunks of plum, then bathed everything in a raw apple cider vinegar + honey brine.

Sweet heat. Warm spice. Sharp brightness.
A little jar of winter sunshine to cut through the cold.
Perfect with roast meats, cheese boards, rice bowls… or just straight from the jar.

My ultimate comfort bowl tonight: silky, sinful mash inspired by Joël Robuchon, topped with my Vietnamese-style red wine beef stew, drowned in rich sauce and finished with a jungle of coriander + spring onions.

On the side? My homemade Đà Lạt apricot wine — bright, clean, the perfect palate reset after every buttery bite. Pure soul food after a long day.

There’s something truly special about our Stroud Green Farmers’ Market — a big-hearted community right here in Finsbury Park, running strong since 2019. Every Sunday, rain or shine, our amazing traders, growers, and makers come together to share the best local produce, artisanal goods, & joy with families, friends, and neighbours. 🌾

This weekend, we’re celebrating the Harvest Festival 2025 — marking another season of abundance, colour, and gratitude. 🧡 From vibrant pumpkins to golden cauliflowers, the stalls are overflowing with autumn beauty.

We’ve even created something special: Autumn at the Market, a cozy little booklet filled with easy, healthy recipes inspired by the harvest — made to warm your heart and kitchen. 🥕📖

🍂 AUTUMN AT STROUD GREEN — A BOWL OF SEASONAL COMFORT 🍂

The air turns cooler, the leaves tumble softly across the playground, and the scent of freshly ground coffee drifts through the market. Stalls glow with colour — deep green kale, golden pumpkins, tender leeks, and the soft sheen of just-picked courgettes.

You wander through, basket in hand, stopping by Edmund for his eggs and cream — the kind that make everything richer. A few steps on, the lion’s mane and shiitake mushrooms call your name from their wooden crates, earthy and fragrant. And of course, you can’t leave without a pack of free-range chicken thighs, ready to bring everything together.

This week, it’s all about the harmony of courgette noodles, sautéed mushrooms, and slow-cooked chicken — tangled together with cream, shaved Parmesan, and a whisper of cheddar. High in protein, low in carbs, yet full of warmth — the taste of the season, captured in one bowl.

Day off mood 🌿 I’m sitting here in Covent Garden with my little sunshine moment and a new seasonal treat – the Cloud Longjing Latte from HeyTea. I kept it simple: no ice, no sugar. Still feels like a healthy indulgence, with that creamy, earthy matcha foam floating on top.

There’s something special about slowing down, sipping tea, and letting the day soften around you. A small ritual, but it makes life feel lighter. Love tea love matcha !!!

🥚 Thermal Bottle Poached Eggs + Caramelised Mushroom Magic 🍄✨
This one’s a quiet revolution.

I took 3 room-temp eggs, popped them in my thermal bottle, poured boiling kettle water, sealed it — and went for a walk.
⏱️ 1.5 hours later: perfect silky poached eggs.

Back home, I rescued some sad-looking market mushrooms — sautéed them in my homemade caramelised fish sauce until crispy and golden.

Topped it all with a sprinkle of parm, black pepper, and gratitude.
🧠 Nutrient-rich. 💛 Gut-loving. ♻️ Zero waste.

This is slow cooking for the fast soul.
