Virtuosity meets invention at LIFEM 2026 this November when L’Artefice ensemble brings the music of the 16th and 17th centuries vividly to life. From lavish ornamentation and intricate variations to Canzonas, Ricercars, Toccatas and Sonatas, hear them perform on nyckelharpa, baroque violin, bass viol and harp.

At LIFEM this November, step into the glittering court of one of Renaissance Europe’s most powerful women.

Our 2026 festival opens with Ensemble Inventio: La Margarita, a thrilling mix of motets, chansons, dance and improvisation inspired by the extraordinary musical world of Marguerite of Austria. Expect shawms, cornetts, historical winds and the exhilarating spontaneity of live Renaissance improvisation.
