‘Clychau’r Gog’ by Joseph Conran
Steel and brass, 2026
Clychau’r Gog is the Welsh name for a Bluebell, but its direct translation is ‘the cuckoo’s bells’. Inspired by R. Williams Parry’s line, “They come when the cuckoo comes / When she goes they go too,” this work celebrates migration and the seasonal dance of animals and plants.

Impressive work from the 2026 Aberlleiniog Sculpture Trail.

Thank you to John Draper, Gail Johnson and Julie Upmeyer for the photos.

The Aberlleiniog Sculpture Trail receives core funding from the Sustainable Development Fund, a Welsh Government initiative on the Isle of Anglesey ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ (AONB). Diolch!!! .
‘Clychau’r Gog’ gan Joseph Conran
Dur a phres, 2026
Clychau’r Gog yw’r enw Cymraeg am Glychau’r Gog, ond ei gyfieithiad uniongyrchol yw ‘clychau’r gog’. Wedi’i ysbrydoli gan linell R. Williams Parry, “Maen nhw’n dod pan ddaw’r gog / Pan fydd hi’n mynd maen nhw’n mynd hefyd,” mae’r gwaith hwn yn dathlu mudo a dawns dymhorol anifeiliaid a phlanhigion.

Gwaith trawiadol o Lwybr Cerfluniau Aberlleiniog 2026.

Diolch i John Draper, Gail Johnson a Julie Upmeyer am y lluniau. Mae Llwybr Cerfluniau Aberlleiniog yn derbyn cyllid craidd gan y Gronfa Datblygu Cynaliadwy, menter Llywodraeth Cymru ar ‘Ardal o Harddwch Naturiol Eithriadol’ (AHNE) Ynys Môn. Diolch!!! . .

425 RUNG - DAY 3 Llwybr Cerfluniau Aberlleiniog Sculpture Trail, Llangoed, Anglesey, Wales.
Aberlleiniog Castle Woodland. Reeds. 29th March 2026

In my next piece for the sculpture trail in the series, 'Holding Hands with the Land', I chose to make this design on some of the boggiest ground imaginable and after a good hour or so trying to balance on tussocks and sticks the inevitable wet feet resulted. There's a Chinese feeling about this pattern of reeds which I would love to return to and maybe use on the nearby beach.

Yn fy narn nesaf ar gyfer y llwybr cerfluniau yn y gyfres, 'Dal Dwylo gyda'r Tir', dewisais wneud y dyluniad hwn ar rai o'r tiroedd mwyaf corsiog y gellir eu dychmygu ac ar ôl awr dda neu ddwy yn ceisio cydbwyso ar dwmpathau a ffyn, daeth y traed gwlyb anochel i'r amlwg. Mae teimlad Tsieineaidd am y patrwm hwn o gorsen y byddwn wrth fy modd yn dychwelyd ato ac efallai ei ddefnyddio ar y traeth cyfagos.

Black Rock and Other Wonders - Unraveled by Landlines Studios

The remnants of flags, first flown at Fort Perch Rock, deconstructed and reconstructed, shaped by the stories, textures and tides of time. The symbols, codes and colours that remain are given new life, flying as part of the recent Llwybr Cerfluniau Aberlleiniog Sculpture Trail 2026 in Llangoed on the flag pole at Neuadd Bentref Llangoed Village Hall

These two (from a series of eight) earth pigment based flags were Unraveled by weeks of wind, rain and storms flying high over the Fort. The two show here are testament to the resilience of the pigment and stitching that were initially put into the work.

Landlines Studios is a Wirral based duo - textile artist Angela Strigner and abstract artist Nicky Perrin. Together they create mixed media artworks which are grounded in place with regular use of natural earth pigments and botanical dies, all processed by the artists themselves. . .
Gweddillion baneri, a chwifiwyd gyntaf yng Nghraig Fort Perch, wedi’u dad-adeiladu a’u hail-greu, wedi’u llunio gan straeon, gweadau a llanw amser. Mae’r symbolau, y codau a’r lliwiau sy’n weddill yn cael bywyd newydd, gan chwifio heddiw yn Llangoed.

Cwifwyd y ddwy faner hon (o gyfres o wyth) sy’n seiliedig ar bigment daear gyntaf yng Nghraig Fort Perch, New Brighton ar gyfer Biennal yr Annibynwyr. Wedi’u datod gan wythnosau o wynt, glaw a stormydd, mae’r ddwy hon yn dangos gwydnwch y pigment a’r pwytho a roddwyd yn y gwaith yn wreiddiol.

Mae Landlines Studios yn ddeuawd o Wirral - yr artist tecstilau Angela Strigner a’r artist haniaethol Nicky Perrin. Gyda’i gilydd maent yn creu gweithiau celf cyfryngau cymysg sydd wedi’u seilio yn eu lle gyda defnydd rheolaidd o bigmentau daear naturiol a marwau botanegol, pob un wedi’i brosesu gan yr artistiaid eu hunain.

Ysgrifennu’r Llif - Writing the Flow - New Date!
Fe’ch gwahoddir i weithdy ysgrifennu dwyieithog gyda Sian Northey a Ness Owen, gyda thaith gerdded ar hyd Afon Lleiniog i’r môr, lle bydd cyfranogwyr yn cymryd rhan mewn ymarferion ysgrifennu unigol a chydweithredol wedi’u hysbrydoli gan gynefin, llên gwerin a hanes yr afon.

Mae’r gweithdy, sydd ar agor i bob lefel, yn annog cyfranogwyr i rannu eu lleisiau unigryw. Yn dibynnu ar niferoedd a galluoedd iaith, gall grwpiau ysgrifennu yn y Gymraeg, Saesneg, neu’r ddwy, gyda chroeso i ddysgwyr y Gymraeg.

Post From Winston Plowes Winston Plowes “More images of my piece ‘Accord’ from the second day of the Llwybr Cerfluniau Aberlleiniog Sculpture Trail last month.

I made this piece on the door of an outbuilding at Neuadd Bentref Llangoed Village Hall from magnolia Petals pinned with bramble thorns from the car park which were like the world’s worst drawing pins! Thank you Gili Armson for cutting the first piece to be pinned and for the refreshments that kept me going when rain threatened and by thumbs were giving up. I asked the event curator, Julie Upmeyer to name this piece and she chose to think about the action and intervention of landscape, materials, the concept of the piece and the work of the artist and his tools and how all these things must come together and I love how these thoughts align with my title for this project of ‘Holing Hands with the Land’. I explored so many new techniques over this event which really expanded my artist’s practice. Thank you Plas Bodfa

Gwneuthum y darn hwn ar ddrws adeilad allanol yn Neuadd Bentref Llangoed o betalau magnolia wedi’u pinio â drain mieri o’r maes parcio a oedd fel pinnau lluniadu gwaethaf y byd! Diolch i Gili Armson am dorri’r darn cyntaf i’w binio ac am y lluniaeth a’m cadwodd i fynd pan oedd glaw yn bygwth ac roedd fy bodiau’n rhoi’r gorau iddi. Gofynnais i guradur y digwyddiad, , enwi’r darn hwn a dewisodd feddwl am weithred ac ymyrraeth y dirwedd, deunyddiau, cysyniad y darn a gwaith yr artist a’i offer a sut mae’n rhaid i’r holl bethau hyn ddod at ei gilydd ac rwy’n caru sut mae’r meddyliau hyn yn cyd-fynd â’m teitl ar gyfer y prosiect hwn o ‘Holing Hands with the Land’. Archwiliais gymaint o dechnegau newydd yn ystod y digwyddiad hwn a ehangodd ymarfer fy artist yn fawr. Diolch Plas Bodfa.
