Today Russell got the Organeriam built up in preparation for the 2026 showing season. This also gave an opportunity to carry out any repairs and alterations needed, as well as putting some music through the organs to make sure they are working correctly and playing in tune. It has also given us a chance to get the Organeriam collection together for a photograph.
Along with the Organeriam we have our organ 'Stan' on his purpose built carriage. Russell has been slowly doing the sign writing on the front, so people know who we are, he's nearly finished with a few more details to complete.
You'll also notice our miniature showman's engine, this is a back burner project for the moment, but we look forward to getting it up and running in the future. Unlike an actual showman's engine, this engine works on a 12 volt battery and is nearly completely built of plywood. Built by Sandy Fraser, who had an incredible eye for detail, built like an actual engine, with moving flywheel and valve gear all run from a motor hiden where the dynamo would be. Russell was kindly sold the engine by Sandy's daughter Helen last year, who has been a family friend for many years. There are a few jobs needed to be carried out before we can get the engine back into working order but nothing too serious.
