Much excitement!
Road Song Books is proud to announce our late summer/early autumn release, The Longest Day (working title) by the wonderful Lisa Williams
Lisa is from Leicester, studied the History of Art and has worked variously in galleries, marketing and as a waitress, finding joy in the stories of her customers.
She has written for as long as she can remember, keeping her scribblings in a drawer.
When the drawer got full she started a blog and began sending stories off to various magazines, with her work appearing in many publications and anthologies. This prompted her to go back to university where she got an MA in creative writing.
Predominantly a writer of short stories, flash or micro fictions, Lisa particularly likes the tight word constraint of a drabble: a story of exactly one hundred words.
She’s a cheery soul but you wouldn’t guess that from her writing as she often dwells on the darker side of life.
Lisa regularly reads her stories on the radio and at spoken word events and takes part in the one hundred word story podcast most weeks, as well as publishing a weekly drabble on Substack.
Lisa lives in Leicester with her family where she still has a drawer full of largely illegible scribblings.
Lisa's book will follow Mark Wigan's Drawing the Night and if the train is on time we expect a late August/September release date.
Following on from Drawing the Night, Lisa's novella will be the second in a loose triptych of urban tales!
Congratulations Lisa :)
