The National Honey Show booking page for workshops is now open.

There are some fantastic workshops and free lectures to attend. It’s a great day out with lots of amazing exhibits to see and fantastic trade stalls.

On Saturday 26th October, Middlesex Federation is sponsoring a lecture by Dan Etheridge on the Tropilaelaps mite.

Entry forms need to be received by the show secretary by the 7th of October or they incur a late entry fee of £10. Entries closes on 14th October.

Some classes for videos, photographs, essays and microscopy slides need to be received by 9th September. Please check downloadable shoe schedule for details.

Download the free Asian Hornet Watch App to your phones. It has clear, identification photos and you can upload your location and a photo if you’ve seen an Asian hornet so that the National Bee Unit can be notified. Let’s not let this nonnative species get settled in the UK!

Our 2023 beginners’ course starts in February. There will be five weekly online sessions, and three Sunday practical sessions. The cost will be £148 which includes full membership of HBKA and support throughout the year (a partner at the same address pays £85). Numbers are restricted and places are allocated on a ‘first come first served’ basis.

The dates are:

Monday 27th February, Tuesday 7th March, Mondays 13th, 20th and 27th March on Zoom.
Practical sessions on Sundays 12th and 19th March and Saturday 1st April at Hatch End apiary.
