Today we took a walk around the incredible ruins of Pompeii Archaeological Park and honestly, what an amazing place.

Walking through the ancient streets, seeing the houses, shops and buildings still standing nearly 2,000 years later is something that’s hard to put into words. It really feels like stepping back in time.

Pompeii was once a thriving Roman city until 79 AD, when Mount Vesuvius erupted and buried the city beneath layers of volcanic ash and pumice. Thousands of lives were lost, but the ash also preserved the city, leaving behind an incredible snapshot of everyday Roman life for future generations to discover.

Standing there today and imagining what happened all those years ago is both fascinating and emotional. It’s definitely one of those places that leaves a lasting impression and makes you appreciate just how much history surrounds us.

The Chiesa del Gesù Nuovo is one of the most famous and unique churches in Naples and its history goes all the way back to the late 1400s.

What makes it so unusual is that the building was never originally built as a church. It started life in 1470 as a grand palace called the Palazzo Sanseverino, owned by the powerful Sanseverino family — one of the richest noble families in southern Italy.

The strange diamond-shaped stone façade you see today is actually from the original palace. It was designed to show wealth and power, and even now it gives the church a mysterious almost fortress-like appearance.

In the late 1500s, after political problems between the Sanseverino family and the Spanish rulers of Naples, the palace was confiscated and handed over to the Jesuits. They transformed it into a church and named it “Gesù Nuovo,” meaning “New Jesus.”

Inside is where the real contrast hits. The outside looks dark and severe, but the interior is filled with incredible Baroque art, gold decoration, massive frescoes, marble chapels and detailed ceilings. It became one of the most important Jesuit churches in Naples.

The church also survived earthquakes, revolutions and even heavy bombing during World War II. There’s a famous story that during a bombing raid in 1943, a shell entered the church but failed to explode. Locals believed the church was miraculously protected.

Another important figure connected to the church is Giuseppe Moscati, a doctor known for helping the poor of Naples. His remains are kept inside the church today, and many people still visit to pray there.

There are also legends surrounding the mysterious symbols carved into the stone façade. Some believe the markings hide secret musical codes or esoteric meanings linked to the original palace builders, which adds even more mystery to the place.

It’s one of those locations in Naples where history, religion, mystery and art all collide together in one building. fans

FORT WIDLEY – HISTORY & HAUNTINGS

Perched high on Portsdown Hill overlooking Portsmouth Harbour, Fort Widley is one of the iconic Palmerston Forts, built in the 1860s to defend the city from invasion.

Originally designed to protect against attacks from inland, this Victorian stronghold has witnessed decades of military history — from housing soldiers and heavy artillery to playing key roles during both World Wars, including bomb disposal and civil defence operations.

But it’s not just history that lingers here…

👀 Reported Hauntings include:
🔸 The sound of a drummer boy echoing through the corridors
🔸 A whistling Sergeant-Major heard in the dead of night
🔸 Sightings of shadow figures moving through the tunnels

Nuns Cross Farm – Dartmoor’s Isolated Mystery 👻

Deep in the heart of the beautiful Dartmoor National Park, sits Nuns Cross Farm.

The History

Built in 1870 by farmer John Hooper, the farm was once home to a family who lived a long life out on the moors.

After their passing… the farm was abandoned, left to the elements, and slowly fell into ruin.

Today, it still stands—but the stories never left.

The Story Of The Missing Wife

This is where things take a darker turn…

Local folklore tells of a farmer and his wife living in isolation…

Until one day… she vanished.

No trace. No answers.

Some say:

She got lost in the mist and wandered onto the moor

Possibly swallowed by the deadly Fox Tor Mire

Others believe something far more sinister…

That her disappearance wasn’t an accident at all and that her husband had something to do with it…

This part is legend—but it’s a story that still lingers around the farm to this day…

Over the years, investigators and visitors have experienced:

👣 Footsteps in empty rooms
👤 Shadow figures watching from windows and doorways

Set deep within Dartmoor National Park, Nuns Cross Farm is one of those locations that instantly pulls you in…

Walking down towards the farm, you’re surrounded by pure beauty and peacefulness.
It almost feels calming… too calming.

🏚️ First Impressions

As we arrived and did our initial walk around, there wasn’t much to report straight away…

But one thing was very clear—
👉 This place is isolated.

No phone signal.
No electricity.
Just you… the farm… and the moor.

At this point, the team were relaxed, excited, and ready for the night ahead.

As the sun dropped and the stars filled the sky, the location really came alive in its own way…

👻 What We Experienced

As the investigation got underway, things quickly changed…

• A figure was seen in the front room
• Cat balls were moving with no explanation
• Spirit box responses that felt intelligent and direct

Then came one of the most intense moments of the night…

In what we called the dining room, two large wooden tables sat in the centre.
The team were gathered around one…

👉 Suddenly, the table moved with force

Not a slight nudge…
But like it had been pushed.

These were heavy tables—definitely not easy to move.

At that moment, several members of the team reported feeling a strong, dominant presence…
One that made them genuinely uncomfortable.

🌙 When the Lights Went Out…

As the night came to an end and everyone settled down to sleep…

That’s when things didn’t settle.

• Movement in the corridors
• Voices being heard
• That feeling… that you’re not alone

Nuns Cross Farm is an incredible location.
Atmospheric, isolated, and at times… intense.

This is definitely a place we feel has more to give—and one we’ll be returning to 👀

Last night, PTTP returned to the incredible Wymering Manor…

Bit of History

Wymering Manor is known as the oldest building in Portsmouth, with over 1,000 years of history running through its walls.
• The site dates back to Roman times, with early settlement nearby
• First recorded in 1042, owned by Edward the Confessor, before passing to William the Conqueror
• Much of the building we see today is 16th century, built using Saxon and medieval materials
• Over the years it’s been a manor house, religious college, family home, and even a youth hostel
• Now a Grade II* listed building, full of character and history

Why It’s So Well Known

Wymering Manor is often called Hampshire’s most haunted house… and it’s easy to see why.

Reported activity includes:
• Children’s laughter echoing through empty rooms
• Shadow figures moving along corridors and staircases
• Loud bangs, doors opening, and objects shifting
• Sudden cold spots and that feeling of being watched

The Spirits Said to Linger

Some of the most talked-about hauntings include:
• The Bloody Nun – Seen near the attic, surrounded by dark legend
• Reckless Roddy – A spirit linked to the grounds, often with phantom horse sounds
• Child Spirits – Heard whispering and playing upstairs
• The Lady in the Violet Dress – A calm, mysterious presence seen by former residents

Our Night…

For us, last night wasn’t as active as some of our previous visits… but that’s the nature of the paranormal.

What made the night special was spending time with a great group of people, exploring such a beautiful and historic location, and just soaking in the atmosphere of a place with so many stories to tell.
