On the 12th May it will be 2 years since I had stroke.

To "celebrate" and take control of my life challenge's, I have entered Trans Alba Race, it is a self supported 1020mile race around Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I am doing this "because I can" ( hopefully 🙏) and to raise awareness & funds for the Stroke Association May is Stroke Awareness Month raising awareness about stroke prevention, recognition, and treatment.

If you are in a position to contribute with a small donation, that would be amazing or just to share this for awareness.

Thank you & to everyone who has helped me get here. 🚴‍♀️💜

Sometimes a small act of kindness can result in so many opportunities.

This was a difficult write, so thank you to Melanie at Scottish Cycling for asking me to share my story.

I hope it will reach out to anyone going through any difficult times & give hope that challenges can be overcome 🙌

In this month’s BlogHER article, Christina Mackenzie shares how the support of friends and the wider cycling community helped her find her way back onto the bike following a stroke two years ago.

Closing out the year with a steady week of training in Lanzarote. 🚴🏽‍♀️🚴🏽‍♀️🚴‍♂️
Hard to believe that this time last year I was close to selling my TT bike and stepping away. 🙁
A year on, the bike stayed, the motivation returned, and a rescue dog found her way into my life. 🐕
Progress isn’t loud. It’s the small decisions, the quiet comebacks, the moments no one sees.🙏
Here’s to a healthy, focused, and quietly determined 2026.🥳

✨ A day of two halves!

🚴🏽‍♀️ Morning at the velodrome for the Scottish National Track Championships:

• 2km Individual Pursuit → qualified for the bronze medal ride-off, missed 🥉 by just 0.66 seconds.
• 4km Team Pursuit → guest rider for RT23, we qualified strongly for the gold medal final but were caught by a flying young Scottish squad.

🏆 Evening in Dunblane at the Stirling Bike Club Christmas Bash

• Honoured to receive Road Rider of the Year, presented by Scottish Cycling President Sandy Gilchrist.
• Loved chatting with Sandy about his legendary 12-hour TT days, and sharing admiration with Cathy for trailblazing women riders like Eileen Sheridan and Beryl Burton.

Grateful, inspired, and aiming high for 2026 🚴🏽‍♀️✨😍

3 years later, the driver has never been found.

According to a witness statement the Ford Ranger had a personalised number plate consisting of 2 numbers & 2 letter’s.

Officers are appealing for information following a crash on the B822 at the Kippen roundabout, Stirling, in which a cyclist was seriously injured.

The incident happened around 5.05pm on Tuesday, 27 September, and involved a black Ford Ranger towing a silver Ifor Williams trailer which failed to stop.

The cyclist, a 45-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for treatment.

Sergeant Jack Swindells, from Forth Valley’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing into the full circumstances of what happened and we are keen to speak to anyone who has information that could help with our investigation.

“The black Ford Ranger and trailer were in the area at the time of the collision and we are keen to speak with the driver.

“We are asking anyone who saw the vehicle either before or after the crash to get in touch. Likewise, anyone with dash-cam that could assist should contact us.”

Anyone with information that could help is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 2444 of Tuesday, 27 September, 2022.
