We're a group of 7 volunteers who have come to the Greek island Leros near Turkey to assist with the refugee crisis. The weight of human need is pretty overwhelming but it's an honour to be able to demonstrate some humanity where it's so desperately needed. Hundreds of displaced people, many families with young children and right at the beginning of their epic journey north.
The camp here has responded well to the massive demands placed on it from its chaotic beginnings last summer where there were literally thousands sleeping at the port with little or no facilities at all.
Now there is a UN infrastructure of tents and hygiene etc but still in very real need of having 'bodies on the ground' to distribute clothing and food and the all important interaction with the refugees, bringing some level of dignity and understanding.
We have some funds we've been able to use for immediate clothing needs where there has been a shortage and also to set up activities on site.
Going forward initiatives like Micah and Georgia have set up here will prove invaluable in resourcing future ventures because this crisis is far from over but in fact likely to surge again during the summer months. So thankyou for your interest and support and the fact that you simply have a heart!

The amazing and inspiring impact these long-term volunteers are having is pushing us to raise as much money as we can to send a group of volunteers out to Le**os to help them as soon as possible. Not to mention our own government's looming intervention with additional bombs on Syria, pushing us to do as much as we can.

Please help if you're able.

Thanks for all the donations so far. We can send out 2 volunteers with the money we've raised so far but we're hoping to send 4 to Le**os on the first trip.. Any small donation is hugely appreciated! Thanks =)

We're almost at 100 likes and it's really brilliant to see everyone liking and sharing our page, so thank you very much for your support. We have a lot planned to raise money to get a group of volunteers out to Le**os before Christmas, for as we get further into the winter months the needs becomes greater and greater. From car boot sales to music evenings as well as some fundraising on the streets!! If any of you are able to make a small donation, there is strength in numbers and a small contribution x100 is a whole lot of help!! Please help us keep the momentum going and give what you can. We've got high hopes and we'll keep you updated.

"There are thousands of children here and their feet are literally rotting, they can't keep dry, they have high fevers and they're standing in the pouring rain for days on end. You have one month guys, and then all these people will be dead"

Another call came in - this time from volunteers in Serbia - the refugees are burning plastic bags to keep warm, they have nothing else, they are freezing to death, and the fumes from the bags are slowly poisoning them, please send help. Then another - this time from volunteers on Le**os trying to f…
