The Nordic countries have long held a place in the Scottish imagination, but going beyond the familiar, this Festival opens up an intriguing space. As sovereign countries with both distinct and interlocking social, political and cultural traditions, the Nordic experience offers a mean

s of considering the questions which Scotland, as a country at the crossroads of constitutional choice, faces when deciding its future in the 21st century. We invite to you enjoy the vibrancy of Nordic music and art and hope to play, albeit a very small part, in helping you draw your own conclusions.
