The South West Design + Digital Student Awards is an annual competition hosted by Proctor + Stevenson, giving final year students the opportunity to showcase their work, meet industry experts and be in with the chance of winning incredible prizes.

It’s now time to announce the winner of our Ultimate Creative Champion title for the 2026 South West Design + Digital Student Awards!

We’re excited to announce Vincent Tyson-Dieroff, Animation student at University of the West of England, as our Ultimate Creative Champion with his project ‘Pizza Delivery'.

Pizza delivery is a horror-comedy animation about a man and a cat delivering pizza to a spooky house in the woods. Vincent worked hard to build scenes from cinematic lighting and varied compositions, while keeping his comedic timing and pacing on point, demonstrating impressive attention to detail and imaginative storytelling.

The judges found the piece to be highly entertaining and accomplished with strong characterisations, expressions and voiceovers throughout.

Our third winner of the 2026 South West Design + Digital Student Awards is Jenny Saunders for her project 'Rebranding Cardiff'.

Jenny who studies at Cardiff Metropolitan University, wowed the judges with her comprehensive and well-researched update of the city of Cardiff's brand identity.

Knowing that Cardiff is home to a wide range of cultural experiences, juxtaposing rich Welsh heritage with the vibrancy of a modern capital city, Jenny saw an opportunity to bring a sense of cohesion and visual distinction to its identity.

The judges appreciated Jenny's in-depth research and audience considerations, as well as the commercial appeal of the project and Jenny's mature understanding of brand communications.

Congratulations Jenny! 👏

Our second winner of the South West Design + Digital Student Awards 2026 is University of the West of England Animation student Leo Crumbie with his short film ‘You Have This Rich Inner World’.

A celebration of art and self-expression in their purest forms, this imaginative animation combines mixed-media, stop-motion and hand-drawn animation with behind-the-scenes footage.

Leo describes the film as a “journey of wonder through feathery fields, silky hills and blanket like planets” and hopes the project will inspire others to create find their own unique voices, and discover their passions.

Our judges were moved by the theme of unbridled creativity and loved the level of details, craft and texture that went into it. They also applauded Leo for waving process into the film to give audiences a peak behind the curtain.

Thank you to all final year uni students across the South West of England and Wales who have submitted their entries. We’ve had loads of amazing projects, and we can't wait to look through them with our judges this week.

Quick, we’ve extended the deadline for the South West Design + Digital Student Awards 2026!

If you weren’t going to make the first deadline, fear not! You now have until midnight on Monday 1st June to submit your entries.

Don’t miss out on the chance to win up to £2k in cash, professional portfolio reviews, and a paid design internship with us.

There’s no brief. You can use a current uni or personal project, or create a new one. As long as it fits into one of our three categories, you’re good to go!
