South Korean sci-fi action blockbuster Hope (15) screens at QUAD from 25 September and tickets just went on sale.

I've loved director Na Hong-jin's previous movies The Wailing, The Yellow Sea & The Chaser so I have high hopes for this one (pun intentional)

Superb anime Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis (PG) screens as part of the Architecture On Film Weekend at QUAD - Derby on Friday 2 October 8:45pm.

I did this as a Satori Screen event a few years back and it was absolutely stunning to see on the big screen.

Next up for Satori Screen is a showing of the superb, and utterly bonkers, 2004 Japanese comedy Survive Style 5+ (15) at 8:30pm on Friday 18 September at QUAD - Derby.

This film features disparate storylines - a stage hypnosis show goes badly wrong, a man keeps killing her wife only for her to return to life to torment him, a group of young burglars fall in and out of lust with each other and a murderous advertising executive struggles to come up with ideas.

A thuggish hitman (played by Vinnie Jones!) and his interpreter form a connecting link between the storylines.

Two somewhat contrasting East Asian films screen at QUAD - Derby from Friday 28 August.

First up is South Korean horror film - Colony (15) - from the writer/director of Train to Busan.

The other is Studio Ghibli classic Kiki's Delivery Service (U) - now remastered in 4K.

Huge thanks to everyone who came along to Godzilla-A-Go-Go 3: Godzilla-A-Go-Go Raids Again! on Saturday. It was my most successful all-dayer to date. I did try and take a quick pic of the bumper audience before one of my intros and in my haste totally failed (as you can see), so I guess it'll just have to be a memory.

Godzilla-A-Go-Go will return in 2027, in the mean time please do get involved with Satori Screen's monthly events at QUAD - Derby. Next up is a screening of Third Window Films new 4K restoration of the superb 2004 Japanese comedy Survive Style 5+ (15).

That will happen on Friday 18 September 8:30pm, tickets are now on sale via the QUAD website. I hope to see you there.

I have been away in the middle of a field in Wales this week so my last-minute promo for Godzilla-A-Go-Go 3: Godzilla-A-Go-Go Raids Again! has been somewhat lacking.

I can see you have been happily buying tickets in my absence though! We now have over 100 people booked in to spend Saturday at QUAD - Derby watching four classic Godzilla films.

Tickets are still available, either on the door or via the QUAD website.

Big thanks to all who came along to see The Furious on Friday night, a film that more than lived up to the hype I thought!

Our next event is Godzilla-A-Go-Go 3: Godzilla-A-Go-Go Raids Again! on Saturday 22 August. Tickets are moving fast for this one. Come to the whole thing for just £30 (standard) or £25 (concessions) or buy tickets to individual films at QUAD's regular ticket prices.

I'm just in the process of sorting out the normal run of A3 prints of the poster design below. These will be given away on the day on a first-come first served basis.
