Hi all,

I’m sorry to say, but the event on Saturday 28th , Battle for Heroes, will no longer be going ahead.

Since the date change there have been several stall holders, activities and sponsors drop out for numerous reasons.

I have tried to backfill with additional businesses, but with a few at short notice recently it’s been impossible to provide something to deliver, for the event that I had envisioned.

I do want this to be an annual event, and in order for future activities to be successful, I needed this first one to be perfect.

I have already started planning for next year and aim to deliver what the charities deserve.

I’m very sorry to let you down if you were planning on attending.

Keep an eye on social media and we hope to see you next year, even bigger and better.

As everyone knows these type of events can’t succeed without the support of the public. So we are asking all of you to spend just a moment and invite friends and family to follow our page. You can also go to our events and indicate your going or interested and invite people to those too!

We want to reach as many people as possible in the build up to the events, so this would be a great help.

Watch out for posts over the next few weeks in the lead up with more information about the events.

You can also visit our website which will be updated with the latest info and if you still haven’t got your ticket for the Evening event get in contact before it’s too late.

Head for change is one of the charities we’re supporting this year. Alix is one of our guest speakers at the evening event. Here about his story: how his career started, his professional career and welsh caps, diagnosis of his injury and the impact on his family’s life. A local hero starting the charity and now supporting the military and associated charities. Alix is also providing a touch rugby game with members of his charity to help showcase the talents and raise awareness of low contact rugby options. Let’s get behind him and show our support to him and his family.

Battle for Heroes Charity Rugby is taking place at Girlings RFC in Cwmbran on Saturday 28th May.
We’re still looking for small business stalls and activities to attend, and help make a great day for the local community.

Battle for Heroes Charity Rugby
On Saturday 28th May we will host a rugby festival and family fun day at Girlings Rugby Club, followed by an evening function at the Dragons Rugby home, Rodney Parade. All are welcome to visit and enjoy the activities and rugby games. All money raised will go to three charities:
The REME Charity
Hire a Hero
Head For Change

Rugby taking place:
Children’s tournament
Female seniors game
Vets game
Mixed ability
Touch rugby
Senior men’s charity teams.

Military village
Food court
Local business stalls
Bouncy castles and games

Evening activity:
Guest speakers
Three course meal
Silent auction
Live entertainment
