JUNIOR CRICKET at STAPLEHURST

Spring is here and the new season is due to start in two weeks time!

Come and enjoy relaxing Saturday mornings with bacon rolls and coffee on the decking while your son or daughter runs around and enjoys developing their cricket skills.

With that in mind we hope that we can encourage you to bring your little (or not so little) one along again for the coming season starting on April 20th at 9:30 (weather permitting).

Our Saturday sessions are 9:30-10:45am and there is always an adult game on after starting at either 12noon or 1:00pm. There will be adults arriving shortly after our junior session to start their warm up and that’s a great atmosphere for the juniors to observe.

For those in Years 5,6,7,8 there will be opportunities to play in under 13 and/or under 11 cricket matches this season. Details will be shared online and via email asap.

For those in year 3 or 4, we will be able to enter a couple of Kwik cricket competitions too!!

One of the exciting things we had last year in addition to the large number of newcomers in the younger ages, was the small increase in the number of players in the age 14-16 group. We would be really excited to see and speak to more in this age group. Some of those who have been attending have had the opportunity to represent our Saturday League and Sunday Development adult cricket teams. If this is you… don’t be shy… let us know how we can get you involved.

Additionally if you are a new member please register your membership fee on the GoCardless link https://pay.gocardless.com/AL0000VGWD17JE (existing members your GoCardless will roll over automatically).

Junior subscriptions are £50 for the year which can be paid in one payment or 12 monthly instalments of £4.17 per month. This includes all cricket as well as access to the tennis courts and a club t-shirt and cap! 🏏🎾 There are other membership options (eg family memberships) available too. We are all really excited and ready to get the season started with more competitions, a host of enthusiastic coaches and a super welcoming club – pray for good weather!!

💥CRICKET BAT AUCTION🏏💥

The cricket committee is excited to launch the second part of our fundraising initiative – a “Silent Auction” for a top quality cricket bat worth £400!!

The bat is a ‘short handle grade 1 blank SF bat, weighing 2lb 8oz’ as seen in the pictures!

If you wish to make a bid, please message Tom Davey on 07866 753406 with the amount you wish to bid.

All bids will be kept anonymous until Wednesday 31st January when the highest bidder will be announced and will win the bat!!

Unfortunately the ground is still waterlogged so there will be no cricket again this weekend! 🙁

But on the bright side our new junior training kit has just arrived!! Courtesy of our main Club sponsor,
Homeleigh Timber, all of our junior cricketers will receive a free t-shirt and club cap as part of their membership!

Now we just need some sunshine so they can get out there and start wearing it!!

I saw this talented young man rehearsing last night!!! Amazing!! We are in for a real treat on Saturday!! Leo Horton playing his first ever official gig at Staplehurst Cricket and Tennis Club!

Entry is free so come along tomorrow night and listen to him playing a range of popular cover songs.

The bar will be open as usual from 3pm and the music will start at 8pm.

Monarch's Football Club are running a family day on the Jubilee Sports Ground. It's a real family event including: music, entertainment, bouncy castles and a blow-up assault course!
