🦋🌼🚶‍♀️ WARNING: Side effects of WALK SUN7 may include… 🌼🦋🚶‍♂️

…suddenly becoming the sort of person who says things like:
“Ooooh look, a bee orchid!”
and
“I think that’s a chalkhill blue butterfly…” 🤓🌿

Introducing WALK SUN7 — *Wildflower and Wildlife Walk* 🌼🐝
Sunday 14th June 2026

Join us as we wander from Wadswick towards Chapel Plaister, Hazelbury Common and Manor, exploring fields, woodland edges and beautiful limestone grassland packed with flora and fauna. 🌳🌸

Along the route, an expert guide will help you discover the hidden wildlife all around us — the sort of things most of us normally walk past while arguing with our sandwiches or checking whether we packed enough snacks. 🥪😂

Expect:
🦋 Butterflies showing off
🐝 Bees hard at work
🌼 Wildflowers everywhere
📸 At least one person crouching in a hedge “for the perfect photo”
🚶 Lovely countryside views
🍎 A snack break with strong “middle-class picnic energy”

Please note:
This walk may permanently increase your urge to point at plants and say:
“Ah yes… fascinating limestone habitat.” 🌱😄

🚶‍♀️✊🌿 HISTORY, HEROES… AND A VERY NICE SNACK BREAK 🌿✊🚶‍♂️

This year at the Corsham Walking Festival, we’re stepping back in time for a walk with courage, determination and a surprisingly lovely view… 😄

Introducing WALK SUN6 — Batheaston: A Suffragettes Refuge 🟣🟢⚪
Sunday 14th June 2026

Join a local historian as we uncover the story of Eagle House — once a place of rest and recovery for suffragettes who had endured imprisonment and force-feeding in their fight for equality. 💜

And because even fearless campaigners appreciated a peaceful stroll, we’ll also wander through the beautiful St Catherine’s Valley, proving that Batheaston still knows how to calm the soul and restore the spirit. 🌳☀️

Expect:
📖 Fascinating stories
🌿 Stunning countryside
🚶 Gentle walking
🍎 A snack stop worthy of a revolution
📸 Approximately 47 people saying “Ooooh this is lovely” at the same time

Please note:
Votes for women are now guaranteed…
…but cake ownership disputes during snack time remain unresolved. 🍰😂

📸🚶‍♂️ WALK SUN5 – Take Only Memories… Photograph Your Walk! 🚶‍♀️📸
Sunday 14th June 2026

Warning: after this walk you may suddenly start saying things like:
✨ “It’s all about the lighting.”
✨ “Can everyone stop walking for a second while I capture this?”
✨ “I’m just adjusting the depth of field…”

Join photographer Robert Auckland for a relaxed stroll around some of Corsham’s most photogenic spots — where beautiful scenery, historic buildings and suspiciously enthusiastic camera owners combine into one glorious day out 😄

🌳 Expect:
📷 Tree-lined drives worthy of a movie scene
🏛 Historic buildings begging to be photographed
🌄 Stunning Capability Brown landscapes
🚶 A gentle walk with plenty of opportunities to stop every 12 seconds and say:
“OOOH that would look amazing in black and white!”

Whether you’re using:
📱 a phone
📸 a DSLR
📷 a tablet
…or “that camera you bought in 2018 and promised you’d learn properly” — this walk is for you! 😅

Rob will share expert tips from his work with the National Trust, helping you level up your photography while enjoying the scenery of Corsham.

⚠️ Important advice:
Please ensure your battery is fully charged. Nobody wants to discover the perfect sunset shot while sitting on 3% battery and mild panic.

📅 Corsham Walking Festival
🗓 12th–14th June 2026

Come for the walk…
Leave with great photos, happy memories, and at least 47 pictures of the same tree from slightly different angles 🌳📸😂

🌿🪨 WALK SUN4: Hidden Quarries of Box Hill 🪨🌿
Sunday 14th June 2026

Ever wondered what secrets are hiding just beneath your feet in Corsham? 👀
(No, not your missing car keys… although we can’t promise those won’t turn up too…)

Join us for a walk that’s part countryside adventure, part history lesson, and part “HOW did we not know this was here?!” 🤯

🚶‍♂️ Hidden Quarries of Box Hill takes you along ancient tramways (no tickets required), through Hazelbury Manor and Box Woods, and into the fascinating world of quarrying, industry, and a few military secrets thrown in for good measure… 🏰⚒️

🌄 Expect:
✨ Stunning views over the By Brook Valley
🌳 Proper “get away from it all” woodland vibes
📚 Stories that will make you sound very knowledgeable in the pub afterwards
🥪 And yes… a packed lunch is strongly encouraged (walking burns calories, apparently 😅)
🧭 Bonus points if you can pronounce “quarrying industry” correctly by the halfway point.

📅 Corsham Walking Festival
📍 12th – 14th June 2026

So lace up those boots, channel your inner explorer, and come uncover the hidden side of Corsham… before someone else beats you to it 😉

🚶‍♂️🍦 WARNING: This walk may cause extreme levels of happiness (and possible ice cream addiction). 🍦🚶‍♀️

Sunday 14th June 2026

Introducing SUN3 – River and Meadow Meandering… THEN AN ICE CREAM!

Yes, you read that correctly. This is not just a walk… this is a strategically planned journey that just so happens to end with luxury gelato. Whoever designed this clearly understands motivation. 👏

🌿 Start off all wholesome and outdoorsy as you meander along the River Avon
🌉 Casually cross water meadows like you’re in a period drama
📍 Drop in at Redbridge and Bowden Park looking like seasoned explorers
🐄 Then… BAM… Lacock Dairy appears like a mirage of creamy goodness

At this point, all “we’re just here for the scenery” claims collapse faster than a flake in July. 🍦😄

You’ll even get a farm tour and learn how the magic happens… before immediately taste-testing the evidence. Strictly for research purposes, obviously.

🥪 Bring a packed lunch
😎 Bring your best “I earned this” face
🍦 Bring the willpower… (you won’t need it)
📅 Corsham Walking Festival | 12th–14th June 2026

Because let’s be honest…
every great walk should end with ice cream. 🍦💚

🌿🚶‍♂️ SUNDAY PLANS: Sorted. Expectations: Exceeded. 🚶‍♀️🌿

Sunday 14th June 2026
Meet WALK SUN2 – Upper Tributaries of the By Brook…
…or as we like to call it:
👉 “That walk where you keep stopping every 10 seconds saying ‘this is stunning’” 😍

What’s on the agenda?
🏡 A wander into Castle Combe (yes, the postcard one)
🌳 A magical meander through Parsonage Wood
⛳ A bold crossing of a golf course (try not to look too professional)
🌊 Brooks, bridges, and scenery so pretty it feels slightly unfair

Then… just when your legs say “maybe a rest?”
☕ The Salutation Inn appears like a hero in a high-vis vest (but with better cake).

💡 Essentials:
🥪 Packed lunch = mandatory picnic bragging rights
👣 Comfortable shoes = highly recommended
📸 Phone storage = absolutely critical

📅 Part of the Corsham Walking Festival | 12th–14th June 2026

⚠️ Warning: May cause excessive smiling, spontaneous photo-taking, and the sudden belief that you should “get out more often.”

Who’s in for this one? 👇

💡 What to expect:
📸 Scenic overload (your phone may file a complaint)

📅 Part of the Corsham Walking Festival | 12th–14th June 2026

🚨 WALKERS… BUT MAKE IT LIFE-SAVING 🚨
📍 Corsham Walking Festival | 12–14 June

We all love a good walk…
…but what if your biggest challenge isn’t a hill…
…it’s knowing what to do in an emergency? 😳

Introducing:
❤️ First Aid Confidence Course ❤️
Because let’s be honest…
Most of us would confidently:
✔️ Pack snacks
✔️ Check the weather
✔️ Debate which boots to wear
…but CPR? Defibrillators? 😬

👀 This is where you level up:
Learn CPR (no, not just what you’ve seen on TV)
Use a defibrillator (and not panic when you see one)
Get hands-on practice with real-life scenarios
Leave feeling like an actual hero in waiting 💪

⏱️ Quick & powerful:
Two FREE sessions
Around 1 hour each
📍 Springfield Community Campus

⚠️ Warning:
You may leave feeling
Surprisingly confident 😎
Slightly heroic 🦸
The most useful person on your next walk

👣 Because while we hope every walk is just sunshine and sandwiches…
…it’s good to know you’ve got the skills if things take an unexpected turn 💚

🎟️ Limited spaces (20 per session), so don’t hang about!

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: You do NOT have to be a “walker” to go on a walk 😱

Yes, you read that correctly…

📍 Saturday 13th June 2026 | Corsham Walking Festival

Introducing the most welcoming walk of them all:
🌿 Walk for “Non-Walkers” 🌿

Designed especially for:
✔️ “I’m not really a walker” people
✔️ “I only came for the fresh air” people
✔️ “Is there a bench?” people
✔️ And anyone who just fancies a gentle wander with good company 😊

👣 What’s involved?
A relaxed guided stroll around beautiful Hartham Park
Plenty of time to chat, wander and not power march
A chance to discover some fascinating history
Including the very rare Sticke tennis court (yes, that’s a real thing… we checked!)

😌 Pace:
Think “pleasant potter” rather than “Olympic speed walking”

🌳 Bonus perks:
Stunning scenery without the need for heroic effort
Zero pressure, maximum enjoyment
Proof that every step counts (even the slow, scenic ones)

⚠️ Side effects may include:
Accidentally becoming… a walker 😳
Saying “that was actually lovely” at the end
Signing up for another walk (we’ve seen it happen 👀)

So if you’ve ever said “walking’s not really my thing”…
👉 This is YOUR walk
Come along, take it easy, and discover that sometimes the best walks are the ones where you’re not trying too hard 💚
