Devon County Show’s first bovine wedding 🐮💒💍

Can you help this cow get hitched? 🐄💍

A farming family on Cornwall's Roseland Peninsula is on the hunt for a second-hand wedding dress for five-year-old pedigree shorthorn Longfield Tobias's Waterloo.

The bovine bride-to-be will be joining her son, Bluebell Trewithian, in a light-hearted pairs class at next year's Devon County Show, with him taking on the role of groom.

Her handler, Jen Husband, says it's just a fun way to round off the day's competition and raise a few smiles.

It’s International Charity Day! 💚🌾

Today, we’re celebrating the charity behind the Devon County Show and sharing a little more about the work we do throughout the year. The Devon County Agricultural Association works to support and promote farming, food, horticulture and forestry across Devon.

While we’re best known for the Devon County Show each May at Westpoint Exeter, the Show is just one part of what we do. Throughout the year, we bring people together, celebrate our rural communities and support the next generation through events, awards and bursaries, including:

🐮 Farm Wise Devon – helping children discover where their food comes from.
🐑 Agrifest South West – bringing together livestock, ideas and innovation.
🌱 Rootstock – exploring a resilient, profitable and regenerative future for farming.
🏅 Prince of Wales Award – recognising rural groups and small farms.
🎖 Long Service Awards – celebrating 30+ years in agriculture, horticulture and forestry.
✈️ Young Farmers Travel Bursary – supporting YFC members to travel and gain new experiences.
🎓 Student Bursaries – supporting students at Bicton College.

Thank you to everyone who supports us🌾💚
