Live in Central Park: Lee Lessack and Johnny Rodgers revisit Simon & Garfunkel’s Legendary Reunion
Revisit one special summer night in New york City in 1981 when all was “right" with the world. Buy your tickets now to experience musical history being RE-made at PizzaExpress Live when award winning U.S. recording artists Lee Lessack and Johnny Rodgers - with BSL interpretation by the West End’s favorite Donna Ruane - recreate the legendary night in 1981 that 500,000 people gathered in Central Park, NYC to witness the reunion of pop’s greatest duo, Simon and Garfunkel. The occasion was a fundraiser for the iconic, internationally loved park , which was badly in need of tender loving care after the hellish NYC budget battles of the 1970’s. Tickets are on sale now for events in Maidstone, Birmingham and Holborn.
On that evening, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel put their well-publicized feud aside, came together for a great cause, and brought half a million New Yorkers and visitors together in celebration. You’ll hear all the beloved poetic masterpieces that made Simon & Garfunkel famous: “Mrs. Robinson,” “Homeward Bound,” “Scarborough Fair,” “Bridge Over Troubled Waters,” “The Sound of Silence,” and many more.
Duplicating the exact set list from that evening, Lessack and Rodgers will blend their dulcet tones - so reminiscent of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel’s dreamy harmonies - to perform the concert in its entirety. Please Note: This is not an “impersonation” or an impression.
