🎨 Janice and the Gymers had a great time at Florence Arts Centre last night!

The group were treated to a private tour of The Art of Friendship, Janice's exhibition created in collaboration with her friend and fellow artist Helen Morgan. Janice shared some of the stories, ideas and creative processes behind the work before handing over to the Gymers to create their own artistic responses.

Inspired by the exhibition, the young artists got to work using the famous Florence red paint, producing some brilliant pieces of their own. ❤️

A huge thank you to Sue and the team at Florence Arts Centre for such a warm welcome. We'd love to come back!

If you haven't seen it yet, The Art of Friendship runs until 12th July and is well worth a visit. ✨

We had an amazing time at Art Gym last night in our studio.

We welcomed some new Gymers and continued working on our portrait project. The results were fantastic - so much confidence and character in every piece. ✨

Janice was not at all annoyed by the Gymers getting hold of her fuzzy felts and messing about with them... 🤣

We love seeing this group grow 💛

We are absolutely delighted that this is happening! 💛

The Art of Friendship at Florence Arts Centre is a celebration not only of two incredible artists, but of a friendship that has inspired communities across West Cumbria for more than 20 years.

Janice and Helen of Morgan Murray Arts have been a force to be reckoned with in creative community engagement, bringing people together through art and shared experiences.

We’re proud to call them not just colleagues, but friends too.

This exhibition showcases some of their collaborative work from the past two decades and is a wonderful reminder of the creativity, trust and joy that can grow from friendship.

After all, where would we be without friendship.

✨ If you came along to one of our Mid-Winter Hullabaloos in January, you'll probably remember the brilliant Anna Pool, who helped bring the event to life with her incredible music. ✨

Anna is also a member of the amazing folk trio Wise Woman. Blending ancient folk traditions with a bold contemporary flair, Wise Woman create a unique mix of lush harmonies, cinematic strings and a healthy dose of 90s girl power.

The band has just launched a crowdfunding campaign for Foxfire — the official musical adaptation of Sharon Blackie's acclaimed Foxfire, Wolfskin & Other Tales of Shapeshifting Women. Developed by Wise Woman in collaboration with Sounds Just Fine (The Spell Songs), the project will become a full-length album and live concert celebrating myth, transformation and powerful women's stories.

To bring the recording to life, the team is aiming to raise £10,000 through crowdfunding.

If you're able to support, or simply help spread the word, it would mean a huge amount and help make this ambitious project a reality.
