First man, first lady.

I had a little trot around the course this evening after setting up signs etc. It is wet and treacherously slippy on the section down through the woods below Brushfield Hough Farm which is the half way point, also on the steps down to the River Wye crossing near Cressbrook Mill. If you only have road running shoes you will need to take great care there and on other rocky sections on the route.

Number pickup starts from 9.00 and will finish by 10.30 to allow time to assemble below the War Memorial opposite the Cressbrook Club.

We’re hoping for a bit of sun in the morning and the sky tonight looked promising so fingers crossed. Hope you enjoy your run. C

Hooray we’re full again!
I’ll try to answer queries on here but the next three days are very busy for me.

Remember to get here in plenty of time on the morning as you have a long walk up the hill from the Car Park next to Cressbrook Mill to the Number Pickup and Start/Finish.
There is a room to leave bags at the Start but it’s not locked so please don’t leave valuables there.
you will need £5 for the lunch if you plan to stay which you book before the race. Lunch will be choice of meat or veg chilli, or tuna mayonnaise with jacket potatoes, salad and piece of cake. There may be some extra cake available for £1 If we’ve cooked enough!
An outside hose will be available for a fresh air shower or wash off.
While there is a good mile on road at the end and short road section at beginning, the rest of route is on footpaths or stony tracks. i’ll Post on Friday evening when I know what the conditions are on the course.

Only 21 places left now and entries will close at midnight this Monday 6th May so get cracking if you haven’t already signed up.

John and I are doing the last few jobs and crossing our fingers that the rain will have passed through by Saturday so we can serve food outside and present prizes without juggling umbrellas.

Many thanks to all who have donated prizes - I need to get them wrapped this week so please drop them into our porch if we’re not around to receive them.

Only 4 days of online entries and we are already up to two fifths in numbers! Marvellous. Thank you all.

Remember you can make any changes (like swapping runners) on the Fabian4 website until the 5th May. Also you can book your lunch on there so we have a rough idea of numbers for catering.
