Point to Points offer an exciting and fun day out, with the chance to get up close to the exciting race day action. "Paddock Spot" before each race and pick your fancy, - have a flutter with a bookmaker if you like - and cheer on "your" horse from the trackside viewing. There's real camaraderie amongst participants but it's competitive too! Riders are amateurs but standards are high and whilst some are in it purely for the thrill of race riding for others it's a stepping stone to a career as a professional jockey. Admission prices include parking, and there's always plenty of space for a "car boot picnic", children under 16 are admitted free and dogs are welcome but for everyone's safety it's important they are kept on leads at all times. As well as the racing, there's usually hot and old refreshments, a licensed bar and tradestands. Some meetings offer additional entertainment.
