The deadline to sign up to the Mongol Rally 2026 is this Friday, 24th April.

After that we'll be resorting to obscurity and refusal until we open up for 2027, unless you come up with something imaginatively persuasive or have a car so tiny and unlikely to make it to the finish line, that we can't resist.

We have attached to this announcement some suggestively persuasive electro-prints to help you decide to come. They are a collection of some of your most liked pictures on Face-doom. Apparently you lot really like trying to kill Mr Buddy, , rude awakenings at our launches, mud volcanoes, high-tech Rally prep, Trump showing up like a ghoulish Jesus in steak form, simple navigation techniques, ingenious suspension hacks, giving up on roads, and nobs on cars. We're feeding this into our demographic analysis as we write...

That is all.

If you decide you need some tiny-car-wrangling chaos in your life this summer, you can sign up using the link in our bio. Unless it's after Friday. After Friday you can't.

This Mongol Rally veteran is giving away $5000. What’s the catch you ask? Every cent must be spent on taking part in an irresponsible adventure.

Meet Don. He is an as**at. He doesn't have any heirs to leave his money to, so he wants to give it to you.

Spend it on a tiny, crap car, flights, accommodation, medicinal gin & tonics, or a nifty pair of suede driving gloves.

No spiritual experiences allowed. No 'challenges of a lifetime', no guide books and no all-inclusive buffets. Just adventuring stupidity slapping you about the chops with the nobbly stick of chaos, paid for by Mr. Don, as**at and legend.

Applications are open now.

We're sometimes asked about accommodation on the Mongol Rally.

Here, we take an under the hood look at just some of the varied choices the Mongol Rally has to offer, such as camping next to your car against a sunset desert backdrop, camping on top of your car, camping in a truck stop after 4 nights of just sleeping in your car (it's this kind of upgrade that we ralliers dream of), convoy camping on an empty road, Volga riverside camping, not bothering with camping at all and just lying on your bonnet for the ambient warmth like these happy chaps after an evening of jollity in the fine city of Tbilisi.

If you have to leave your car behind whilst it undergoes emergency repairs, then you can camp out on a train to make sure you make the finish line, like Team Tyred and Emotional here.

And don't forget to check out the facilities - there's the in-built fridge unit of the rear seat footwell as demonstrated by Team Xenus Technology Limited; the drying room of a European border post as utilised by The Czech Boys (it's almost as if it was designed for the Mongol Rally's laundry needs); and finally the impossibly clean bathroom facilities, such as this one on a ferry across the Caspian Sea. We're not sure exactly which rallier had the pleasure of using this spa-like convenience, but we hope they're ok.

If this in depth audit of Rally accommodation has left you thinking you might be ready to take on the Mongol Rally, you can find out more at https://www.theadventurists.com/mongol-rally/

After six weeks and thousands of miles in cars that most definitely are unsuitable for the journey, the Mongol Rally has come to an end in Oskemen, Kazakhstan.

Our teams survived deserts, mountains and potholes the size of small countries. Their minds are numb, cars screaming in pain but somehow were carried to their glory. Here’s to the humans and their vehicles who refused to quit, have an adventure and have a bloody good time in the process.

The Mongol Rally will be back next year…

One month and one week on the road for the Mongol Rally 2025. Lots of this now dusty gaggle are still spread across Central Asia, whilst the first finishers have made it over the line. Those that have yet to complete the Rally, have only few days left to do so.

Over 20 teams have already reached the Pink Palace in Oeskemen and crossed the official Finish Line. It's no mean feat to drive across thousands of miles of the planet's most formidable terrain in a car engineered for popping to the shops, so we extend our hearty congratulations to those that have made it so far. Teams featured here have mostly been selected based on their mastery of balancing, ideas and decals: Team 2Fast 2Trash, Team Happy Hour Discovery Coalition, The Rusty Chariot, Team Arfly Racing - Cyberpandino, Team Klapa enGINE promoting having no borders at all (we heartily agree) and Team Watchful Eyes.

Breakdowns and undercarriage woes continue on relentlessly as the roads and non-roads of Central Asia take their toll. But the teams still on the road have no choice but to keep buggering on. Team Gobi or Go Home are taking it in their stride, seen here cooling off on the Pamir Highway before a thorough investigation of their brake and fuel lines which are generously "holding strong." Always beneficial at altitude.

It's been just over a month on the road for the Mongol Rally 2025. Most of this now rather dusty gaggle are scattered across Central Asia. They have a week and a half left to get themselves to the Finish Line, ideally with as many detours as they can muster.

Team Swiss Masters are seen here at Peak Lenin in Tajikistan, Team Spandex captured the serene nature of a night on the Wakhan Corridor and Team Happy Hour Discovery Coalition discovered that a small child on a horse is obviously "better than paper maps on the Pamir Highway." We agree maps are overrated if you're trying to have a proper adventure.

Breakdowns and undercarriage woes continue on relentlessly as the roads and non-roads of Central Asia take their toll. Team Derelicts stopped for another set of repairs in Aral, Team FireTire - always the innovators - adapted their air filtration system yet again and Team OK Georgie! has been busy getting to see Turkmenistan from the back of a rescue truck. It's not all gloom however - Happy Hour Discovery Coalition's oil pan is captured here looking perfectly happy, despite the pounding.

Meanwhile, the first 2 finishers - Team Ossobuco Overdrive of Italy and Team Xenus Technology Limited of Hong Kong - have crossed the Finish Line at the Pink Palace in Oeskemen. Team 2 and a Half Geezers drove straight past the Finish Line and headed to Mongolia. Long the holy grail of the Mongol Rally, it's a tricky place for ralliers to get to these days. However, these chaps have contrived it, and are rather delighted with their escapades.

Three weeks and two days on the road for the Mongol Ralliers of 2025. Apart from getting increasingly smelly, they’ve been busy negotiating borders, shipping their tiny steeds across the Caspian Sea and navigating the wilds of Central Asia.

Kazakhstan brings desert roads, river roads and non roads, captured here by Team Steppe by Steppe - Micras to Mongolia on the way to the Bekdash border with Turkmenistan and by Team Ossobuco Overdrive as they casually drive through a river. Team Not Standard Issue have given up on any kind of road whatsoever.

Sustained exposure to the non-paved variety of road for a mini-steed can result in things falling off, like your entire roof rack as demonstrated by Team Dovetomore; or your bumper, like Team Mooie Dingen. Thankfully, these aren’t essential car parts anyway, and their loss need not impede one’s adventure.

Once in Tajikistan,Team Ossobuco Overdrive proved that size really doesn’t matter as they compared washers with a truck driver on the Pamir Highway. This rugged expressway boasts the position of second highest international highway in the world, stretching 1200 kms from Tajikistan to Kyrgyzstan, a perfect high altitude ascent for a slightly underpowered Toyota Yaris.

Meanwhile, Team Windmill Warriors captured the slightly less exciting escapade of shipping your car when not allowed to drive it across the border yourself, currently the case to get into Azerbaijan in order to cross the Caspian Sea. A mere closed border does not deter the Ralliers from their objective. Nor it seems, does having your number plates stolen in Iran, as encountered by Team Kegland.

A final thanks to Team Gremlin Friends for showing us what life “post volcano tire change” looks like. Quite the glamorous look we think.

Another week on the road for the Mongol Rally 2025. Ralliers are now scattered across a large chunk of the globe with most teams clustered in Georgia and Azerbaijan preparing to cross the Caspian Sea.

As the roads get less roady, the rallier's tiny sh*tboxes are rising to the challenge. Team Arfly Racing Team - Cyberpandino's Fiat Panda is seen here gracefully tackling the Dark Canyon in Turkey, whilst Team No Half Sends and Team Svalbard prove that even the underpowered can reach the summit of the formidable D915. Meanwhile, Team Guus en Luka's Citroën Escapade dealt somewhat less gracefully with the actual escapade of trying to drive over salt flats, a job that Team Praise the Immortal Honda's 124cc Honda CBF125 took in its ballerina-like stride.

Also in Turkey, Team Who Let the Dutch Out? showcase the natural pairing of Capadoccia's balloons and a Mongol Rally car.

In Kazakhstan, Team The Islanders are ensuring their Fiat Uno doesn't have to demean itself by using tarmac, focusing instead on railway lines and sand as they head south to Turkmenistan. Team Happy Hour Discovery Coalition took a more northerly route, heading north of Aktau to park their steed in the desert.

And in Samarkand, Team Ossobuco Overdrive - Pasta la vista, baby! have uncovered a trove of ancient stickers hand-stuck onto a wall by Mongol Ralliers of old.

A final mention to Team Sh*tstack Shamans, who are still in Hungary, cutting a fine strolling pace at the rear and upholding their position of furthest away from the Finish Line. We commend your slow.

The ingenuity of the Mongol Rallier should never be underestimated.

Ralliers utilise various tricks to keep themselves and their tiny steeds on the road. Here, we exhibit some examples from the Mongol Rally 2025, such as Team The Derelicts' incredible command of zip ties for holding together their suspension, Team FireTire's use of a snorkel for those pesky puddles that can stop an undersized domestic steed in seconds, or Team Gremlin Friends' imposing mastery of the hood scoop for cooling their high performance 839cc Renault 4.

Team Purple Rocket have even gone so far as to employ a cat in the place of a mechanic. Sneaky.

Of course, there are always the basics - like remembering you need your logbook when you get to the Georgian border so schlepping back to the UK to get it like Team C U Near Tarhanka, having a CD of 2005 dance hits for those long stretches of road where you feel like you might be losing your mind, or peering at the underside of your diminutive carriage when you hit Kazakh asphalt as demonstrated here by Team Ossobuco Overdrive - Pasta la vista, baby! - who we have noted are steaming ahead of the pack.

And for those of you losing sleep over all those low hanging sumps in the wilds of Central Asia, you can rest easy knowing there's such a thing as a customised Mongol Rally sump guard. Phew.

We're one week into the Mongol Rally 2025. The teams are thundering out of Europe and across Turkey in their diminutive steeds, via a brief stop in Sofia for the Rally pitstop. They face borders, bears, breakdowns - even a narrow escape from a landslide on the Transfăgărășan.

Mishaps are inevitably underway, with Team Marchal Transport's 1985 Citroen Acadiane initially failing to transport anything further than Prague, and The Rusty Chariot's Perodua Kelisa having a well earned rest on the back of a tow truck somewhere not very far at all from the Start Line.

Sporting a Rally classic - a 1996 Fiat Panda - Team Silk Road Unstuck find themselves the opposite in Turkey, whilst Team Kegland's Daihatsu Hijet is also temporarily out of action. Boasting the smallest engine (in the "car" category) on the Rally this year, this 540cc microvan was a matter of great mumblings here at Rally HQ due it's potential for overt storage of supplies. But its tiny engine and the fact it's already causing adequate levels of inconvenience should win over even the most militant of tiny car fanatics.

May the belligerent force of the Rally be with you chaps and chapesses - and whatever you do, do not give up.

The world's greatest motoring adventure has begun.

This weekend saw the start of the Mongol Rally 2025. Over 100 Rally teams from 24 countries launched from the Start Line in the Czech Republic, pointing their tiny steeds in the direction of Oskemen, in the Far East of Kazakhstan.

The official launch was replete with swamp fighting, misinformation, fire dancing, human speed bumps, disco bunker parties, actual alive bands and DJs, cage drinking, rude early-morning-after awakenings and the world's finest compèring by Mr Buddy. All teams left intact, which we've categorised as a success.

They'll now head for some of the planet's most formidable terrain in vehicles more suited to nipping to the shops.

The Mongol Rally sees teams driving cars of no more than 1 litre (or bikes of no more than 125cc) across thousands of miles. Teams must travel unsupported and raise at least £500 for charity.

The world's greatest motoring adventure is nearly upon us.

This summer, 112 teams will take on the Mongol Rally 2025. They thunder forth from the Start Line in the Czech Republic on July 12th and cross the Finish Line a few weeks and thousands of miles later in the far east of Kazakhstan, if they make it to the Finish Line at all.

To keep this rabble in check, we employ a complex matrix of 3 rules: their vehicle must be 1 litre or less; they do the Rally unsupported and they have to raise at least £500 for charity.

Follow them here as they navigate motoring stupidity on a global scale. See how far they get on the Mongol Rally Live Tracking Map - https://www.theadventurists.com/mongol-rally/mongol-rally-live/

Many thanks to the Rally Teams of old for the spiffulating photographs.
