Wilderland Film Festival - First of it’s Kind
Wilderland is a unique film festival with roots in the international capital of wildlife filmmaking - Bristol, UK. Showcasing natural history films from some of the most talented independent filmmakers in the world, our mission is to explore our planet's diversity of wildlife stories on a journey from awe-inspiring mountains and tangled rainforests to colourful reefs and endless oceans.
Touring the UK with the selected films is a great way to bring wildlife stories from all over the world to as many people as possible.
Founded by two zoologists and filmmakers, conservation through film is a major part of our DNA.
The power of visual media has proven monumental in the fight to conserve our planet. Natural history films have had a part in vast areas of wilderness being protected, new species being discovered and even in the trade ban of ivory in the UK.
Through a public vote, the WilderLight campaign selects an endangered species and corresponding charity each year on which to shine a light and raise awareness. Wilderland will then travel to the home of our chosen species to capture their story in a short film.
