What happens when comedians get behind the camera? The ace .common and took these photos when they weren’t on stage, and we think they’re pretty epic!

Brendan’s photos, in colour, are from our King Street Takeover event (15 gigs across 9 venues, all raising money for TAP for Bristol) and beyond.

Chelsea’s film photos, in black and white, are from her time at the festival once she’d smashed her solo show at The Courts!

Give ‘em both a follow for their comedy and their camera skills.

Congrats to for being shortlisted in the 2026, just one year after opening as Bristol’s home of comedy!

Here are some of our favourite pics from Gaffe shows during the 2026 festival. If you took any photos from Gaffe shows in the last few weeks, don’t forget to tag them and us!

Here are a few glimpses of some seriously cool comedians we’ve had gracing our stages at venues like The Robin Hood, The Milk Thistle, Lost & Found, Bristol Central Library, and Strange Brew! Loads more pics to follow from some of our other venues and shows across the city.

Huge thanks to every audience member, comedian, venue staffer, organiser and volunteer who made this our biggest festival ever - we can’t wait to do it all again with you!

All these photos were taken by our amazing volunteer crew (we love you guys!).

And the winner of the Bristol Comedy Competition 2026 is… Charlie Bowers!

Throughout the competition, Charlie won the judges and audiences over with his deadpan humour. He’s been gigging his way around the South West and beyond since 2019, and is also known for being one half of with fellow comedian Walter Jack. Fun fact: he’s also a genius at cryptic crossword setting and solving.

Our runner-up is Tom Hutchinson, whose self-deprecating jokes on everything from ADHD to music (complete with brilliant samples) delivered solid laughs. Tom also presents the with fellow comedian Jessie Nixon.

Thanks to all 150 entrants, our incredible acts in the heats and semi-finals, and our six finalists for making this competition happen, all led by cracking MC Burt Williamson. And thanks to our judges and audiences for helping us narrow down our amazing winner!

Double up on your shows tonight - we have cracking double bills at and that are selling fast!

Head to the Marriott Bristol Royal for improv from Dinner Daddies (Aidan Pittman, Anand Sankar and Hudson Hughes), whose viral ‘awful neighbour’ sketches have had hundreds of thousands of views on TikTok and Instagram. Then stay on for Anand’s solo work in progress show!

Or go to The Hatchet, one of Bristol’s most famous pubs (yes, the one with the rumour about the door). Meet the fabulous Alexandra Haddow and Adam Flood - two super-cool, music-loving comedians that audiences and critics go crazy for. They both rocked their festival shows last year, and now they’re back for another round!

Which double bill will you pick tonight?

We asked comedy insiders for their picks of upcoming fringe shows, and here’s who they chose:

- Jojo Maberly: our Bristol Comedy Competition winner 2025 is still riding high and making great musical comedy
- Alexandra Haddow: she’s supported Frankie Boyle, Tommy Tiernan and Bill Bailey on tour, so you know she’s gonna be great!
- Adam Flood: Ivo Graham called him ‘despicably multi-talented’, and he’s bringing his solo show as well as a late night comedy rave to the festival
- Alex Kitson: a key part of Bristol’s comedy scene for many years (until he left us for London 😭), Bristolian audiences know that Kitson always brings the laughs
- James Trickey: another former Bristol boy, he’s had strong reviews from the Guardian and The List, and we say you should believe the hype!
- Anand Sankar: catch this rising star as he works on his debut show, featuring a bizarre range of characters on a cruise
