Refugee Week Community Celebration

Refugee Week 2026 runs from 15-19 June and sees the world’s largest arts and culture festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.

Join Communitas Dance and Circus Street outside The Dance Space on Friday 19 June, from 4-6pm for an afternoon of refreshments, games, crafts and workshops, including:
4.30pm - Afro dance workshop with Lya from Blkdiamondance
5pm - Latin grooves workshop with Anna from Communitas Dance

All FREE. All welcome!

An exciting week of community events is planned across the city to celebrate Refugee Week, starting next Monday 15 June 🧡

You can look forward to live music, film evenings, discussions, dance, sport events, homemade food, lots of joy and togetherness.

Refugee Week is worldwide celebration of the contributions, creativity, resilience and courage of refugees and people seeking sanctuary, centred around World Refugee Day on 20 June🌍

Did you see the fantastic performance piece Chair! with Geraldine Pilgrim Performance Company here at Circus Street during Brighton Festival? About public spaces that care; where people can sit uninterrupted ready to relax, work, remember and have time and place to dream.
