We are excited to announce the launch of Voicefest 2026 with iconic Scottish singer/songwriter, Horse. Join us for two wonderful days of singing with the celebrated artist described as “one of Scotlands all-time great vocalists” by The Scotsman. She will be both performer and chief vocal coach with a full concert with her trio on Friday 18th Sept at 7pm, and a singing workshop open to all on Saturday 19th Sept (details of that coming soon).

Voicefest and Brechin will get a mention on Czech Radio next month. Myself and another one of the Voicefest team members also happen to be the co-founders of the Prague Fringe Festival which is about to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Steve Gove still runs the Czech event while I’m in Brechin establishing our voice-based festival (18-20th September, now in its second year). Always good to mention what you’re up to no matter where you are in the world. Hope Voicefest can become as popular an event locally as the Fringe has in Prague. Thanks to Ian Willoughby at Czesky Rozlas for inviting us in for interview on the station relaunched the event on 25 years ago. https://www.praguefringe.com

We are delighted to have joined The Touring Network and look forward to getting to know other members of this important Scottish cultural organisation. We have already booked one member for Voicefest 18-20th September. We’ll spill the beans shortly.

Happy Easter from us all at Voicefest. Our main venue, Brechin Cathedral has been looking its best these spring evenings. We are looking forward to autumn though and hearing some great music in this beautiful building.

Following the success of the 1st Voice Festival Brechin (Voicefest) last September, we are busy working on this year’s event from 18-20th September at Brechin Cathedral.

Once again we will be putting on some great free shows, and we’re also talking with some professional acts we think you’ll love, but we can’t confirm them or say who they are until we’ve secured some funding.

Putting on any arts event is an expensive business and grant funding is near impossible to get these days. That’s why we’re offering the opportunity to become a Friend of Voicefest where we’ll reward your financial commitment with some perks. Becoming a friend costs as little as £25, with 4 tier levels, the highest being Festival Patron for a contribution of £500.

How superb to hear people come together at this Come and Sing event at Brechin Cathedral Hall. Lovely to see the fruits of their labours outside the beautiful church too. Maybe we’ll see them at Voicefest 26.

Brechin Cathedral is such a great venue for our festival in September. We're looking forward to seeing it decorated with a giant garland and wreath. If you're around in the town on 13th December you can help the venue make these things - what a great and fun thing to do...

🎄✨ Let’s Make the Biggest Christmas Garland Brechin Cathedral Has Ever Seen! ✨🎄

Grab your fluffiest scarf and your festive spirit — we’re building a giant 40m natural garland and a huge wreath to deck out Brechin Cathedral, and we need your creative hands to make it happen!

We’ll kick off with a fun mini-masterclass from florist Sharon Greasley, then it’s all hands on deck as we snip, tie, twist, and giggle our way through mountains of greenery. With any luck, we’ll even get part of the garland hung before lunchtime so you can admire your masterpiece!

🌟 Drop in any time between 10am and 12.30pm
🌟 Bring friends, bring family, or come solo — everyone’s welcome!
(Under 16s just need an adult sidekick.)

There’ll be hot drinks, mince pies, and lots of festive chatter to keep us going. You can even make your own tree decoration and hand-printed wrapping paper to take home. Kids get to add a name tag to the bit they helped create — instant fame!

Let’s fill the Cathedral Hall with creativity, laughter, and a whole lot of Christmas spirit. Let’s make it epic!
