GET CREATIVE AT BLACKBURN CATHEDRAL!

We’re delighted to welcome Karen from Redcurrant Glass to Blackburn Cathedral for a very special Fused Glass Candle Curve Workshop as part of our Cathedral Craft Club.

Sunday 4th October 2026, 1pm – 4pm, Blackburn Cathedral Crypt

Create your very own beautiful glass candle curve, choosing from colourful glass. You could create flowers, birds, bees, butterflies – or let your imagination take over!

No previous experience needed
Suitable for beginners and improvers
All materials and equipment provided
Your finished creation will be fired by Redcurrant Glass and posted back to you

Suitable for school age children upwards when accompanied by an adult.

Your Afternoon Tea
Each beautifully presented afternoon tea (1 afternoon tea stand will be created for 2 people) will include:
Four freshly prepared finger sandwiches per person
Homemade sausage roll
Savoury quiche
A selection of freshly made cakes and sweet treats
A traditional fruit scone served with strawberry jam and clotted cream
Unlimited tea and freshly brewed filter coffee

Everything is freshly prepared by the Cathedral's catering team using quality ingredients and served on elegant afternoon tea stands.

Friday, 15 May 2026 - The Drifters

The Drifters are back on tour in the UK performing all their classic hits including ‘Saturday Night at the Movies', ‘You’re More Than A Number,’ ‘Come on Over to My Place’, ‘Under the Boardwalk’, ‘Kissin’ In The Back Row’ and many more!

​The legendary group have been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, performed for the President of the United States and listed among the Greatest Artists of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine.

​Under the guidance of Tina Treadwell (daughter of the group’s original founders, George & Faye Treadwell) The Drifters have enjoyed a remarkable resurgence in recent years with multiple successful UK tours including headline shows in major arenas and, most notably, the world famous Royal Albert Hall in London for the first ever time in the group’s glittering career. “I am thrilled with the success of our recent UK tours and we invite you all to join us in continuing to celebrate this incredible and everlasting story of The Drifters.” Said Tina, speaking about the tour.
