On a final note once I have paid in final payments I will have raised over £1750 for Phabkids so thank you again to everyone who has donated.

For anyone who is interested, I was asked to write a blog about the day so here’s the link

Just a note to say thank you to everyone who has donated and supported me through training for today’s London Marathon

Managed to run 26.67 miles rather than 26.2! Had a tough race today from mile 16 with stitch (which I’ve never had before) and the knee became problematic.

Special thanks must go to Penny Bates for all her support throughout the training and for her help with fundraising (including dressing as a pencil) and dealing with my stressy texts! She also travelled with Stu and Trev to support me today, nearly had me sat on her lap in the theatre but seeing her and Stu at mile 21 was most welcome when I really didn’t want to play anymore!

Now nicely seizing up on the train and hoping at least some of the photos come up with a semi smiling face!

Thanks also to the Dolly ladies who have joined me on some of my long training runs especially when I was finding it hard as the mileage upped.

Looking forwards to a long bath and no doubt will be a slow and difficult journey to work tomorrow, currently wishing didn’t work on 2nd floor!

Last short run before Sunday. No running since last weekend taking it steady and everything crossed that knee holds up.

Today was about my old faithful running buddy getting in on the Marathon training action. 🏃‍♀️ 🐕

She’s too old and stiff now to do the longer miles but today was short and steady enough for her to dust off her running paws and come back out with me. We both had a lovely time.

Only 2 days to go until the big day and still time for anyone who would like to sponsor me in aid of this great cause.

Last training run done on a beautiful morning with these two. Just a couple of short runs left in the week to keep legs ticking over.

Training has been tough this time lots of injuries and niggles with some real mental blocks. Fingers crossed that knee holds up until after next Sunday. Tape and ice this week (well closest could find to ice!) 😂

This time next week will be at the start line. 😱🙈😁😬 fingers crossed for frost, rain and no sun 😂

All in aid of a phabulous cause supporting children with and without disabilities to make more of life together

So last long run of 20 miles with couple tough hills done today (luckily London is flat!) before a much needed taper to sort knee and hips out. I actually quite enjoyed today’s run (think knowing it’s the last long one before the big day) unfortunately Trev hit the wall at 17 after being faced with a never ending hill at 14 and he now has two enormous blisters and chaffing! I did tell him to use Vaseline. 😂😂Safe to say I’m not popular now! 😱🙈😂😂

37 miles run this week some mixed routes, trail and road, hedgehogs and a huge flight of steps near the end of a nearly 11 mile run at 5am earlier in the week.

Running number has come through (44001) so it feels a bit more real and only 24 miles to run next week a couple of 6’s and a 12 😁😁

Only 3 weeks to go now and will be proud to run and raising money for a phabulous cause.

28 days to go and a solo 18 miles this morning. Lovely little random chat halfway with another runner who was also training for London (he was going a lot faster than me! 😂). Miscalculated mileage so decided to do a little trail detour to make it up rather than looping round home (still have nightmares of loops round home!). 34 miles this week and only 4 weeks and 83 training miles to go.
