Check out some highlights from our latest drive and ride session last Saturday!

We had two brave drivers who mastered the controls quickly, so there was more time for exploring. The riders in the crew compartment all left with huge smiles.

We are now planning our next session, hopefully in October.

Interesting conditions today meant that the quad Jungle Challenge was tricky--no doubt about it. The steep hills were impossible unless in 4WD, and extreme caution was needed when descending especially if using brakes -- Our three visitors from Sussex coped really well

Delighted to welcome Andrew for his birthday flight in a single engine machine this week. He found it a lot louder than a Boeing - but much more exiciting!
(He was pleased he didn't need the parachute)

BLAST FROM THE PAST!
Whilst testing mine rollers on the airfield with one of our two trusty Fodens, we encountered the police, who were also using the runway. We were curious because it looked as if they were deliberately cutting up each other!

Turns out they were practising TPAC (Tactical Pursuit and Containment) manoeuvres. Once all had been explained, one of the officers asked if he could have a go in our Foden for old times' sake ( he used to drive HGVs) - we agreed on the condition we could test drive his BMW!
We must give a shout out to ex REME S/Sgt McAlpine (on right) without whose help, encouragement, and driving skills the whole long term Trial would have been much more difficult. We retain one Foden FH 70 Gun Tractor, which is seeking new challenges. Amazing vehicle with 6x6, diff locks all over the place, 14 forward gears, winch and crane. It was shipped to Jordan for continuing anti mine trials, but in Middle Eastern heat--and driven by our driver (flown out later), rather than one selected by the Army!
