It was great to participate in the first birthday celebrations for 'What's On in Bedfordshire'. We will have a presence in this new Visitor Centre from now on. This is the first time B400 has had a stall at an event. The future starts here (again!).

Congratulations from Bunyan400!

Details of an exciting event taking place at Bunyan Meeting next month!

Join us on 26th March 2026 at 2pm for the launch of a new poetry chapbook by Matthew Edgeworth - Embodied Places: Deep and Gold and Green.

Members of the Swan Theatre Company will also read a selection of Bunyan's poems. Bunyan's writings include some closely observed poems about the landscape and will contribute to an interesting programme.

Matthew will be signing copies of his new book, so do join us for tea and cake on what promises to be a wonderful afternoon.📚🫖🍰

John Bunyan’s life story is rooted in the landscape of Bedford and Bedfordshire. His most famous book, The Pilgrim’s Progress, draws creatively on the buildings and fields he knew so well. Our town and countryside, and indeed the world beyond, are full of Bunyan references, which is why we have formed a Trails, Tours and Monuments group to explore and revive the cultural heritage of John Bunyan ahead of the Bunyan 400 celebrations.
