50 DAYS TO GO...
The Canterbury Bike Ride is just 50 days away!

There's a choice of three new routes, approximately 24, 54 and 73 miles long.

The routes are front loaded with climbing with a loop of the glorious Kent Down AONB, via the charming village of Wye where there is a refreshment stop at the Wye Hub for those that need it. The medium and long routes head east along the Elham Valley towards Sandwich. The routes turn left at Woodnesborough and goes through Ash Village to the Cricket Club, where riders will enjoy a refreshment stop before returning to Canterbury Rugby Club via the Bridge Downs.

Whether you're looking for a leisurely spin or a serious test of endurance, there’s a distance to suit every rider. The countdown is on! 🗓️🚴

See you at the start line! 👋

We are proud to support Kent Neuro Therapy Centre - an independent charity based in Canterbury, empowering people living with MS, Parkinson's and stroke to rebuild confidence, independence and quality of life.

Through specialist, personalised therapy delivered with expertise and compassion, the Centre supports individuals to achieve meaningful goals and live fuller lives. By combining professional care with human connection, they create a welcoming community where people feel supported, valued and empowered.

There are many ways you can join Team Kent Neuro and make a meaningful difference.

If you would like to raise vital funds for Kent Neuro Therapy Centre you can sign up for one of their FREE charity places through their website (https://kentneuro.org/event/canterbury-bike-ride). They ask for a minimum fundraising target of £75 for the 24 mile route and £150 for the medium or long route. In return, you will receive a Kent Neuro top, support on the day and dedicated fundraising guidance from their team.

For more information, please contact the team at [email protected]. They will support you throughout your fundraising journey and look forward to welcoming you to Team Kent Neuro.

If you would prefer not to commit to a set fundraising target, you can choose to make a donation at registration and/or set up your own personal fundraising page (https://kentmstc.enthuse.com/cf/canterbury-bike-ride).

Every pound you raise helps them to provide therapies, maintain their fully equipped Centre and ensure people across Kent can continue to access the integrated support they need to stay active, independent and connected. They can only continue this work because of you.

We've been out riding the Canterbury Bike Ride long route because we've made some small route amendments.

The second feed station on the medium and long routes will now be hosted by Ash Cricket Club.

The distances and elevation are very similar, however the routes no longer go via Sandwich. Instead they will turn left at Woodnesborough and go through Ash Village.

The short route has also been tweaked to remove a rather steep climb on the return to the Rugby Club.

You can view the routes on the website, or by joining our Canterbury Bike Ride Strava Club.

The Long One

Distance: 72 miles
Elevation: +3,725ft
Highest point: 638ft

As with the 55 mile route the climbing on this ride is front loaded with the final third being relatively flat. The route leaves the Rugby Club westwards over the Chartham Downs and traverses the Stour Valley and up through Perry Wood on its way through idyllic Kentish countryside to the villages of Sheldwich, Throwley, Stalisfield and Charing. After descending Charing Hill (carefully) the ride makes its way along quiet roads through Westwell and the first refreshment stop at the Wye Hub.

From here the route joins the Medium 55 mile route on its way to Sandwich, the climb out of Wye is (of course) up Wye Hill to Hastingleigh and then on and up to Stelling Minnis. The second half of the ride travels quickly along the Elham valley to the flatter parishes East of Canterbury and a fast ride into Sandwich for a second refreshment stop.

The return to Canterbury is the same, via the Roman fortifications at Richborough and the picturesque village of Wickhambreaux with just the Bridge Downs left to climb over before returning to the Rugby Club.

Estimated time: 6h 51m at 10.5mph, 5hr 32m at 13mph or 4hr 58m at 14.5mph
