🍌🦖Wow…what a weekend! Where do we start? The inflatable banana and t-rex having a Simon Says dance off, clouds of colour EVERYWHERE, the MIGHTY Phil Spencer taking liberties with our air horn… or, we could talk about Andy’s Caribbean fruit cake that gave us a cheeky (and very boozy) hit of afternoon energy -(and the inability to drive home after.)
Let’s focus on the main event… the fantastic sight of 180 trail runners gliding through the beautiful countryside around Froyle, fuelled up on bacon rolls and some potent village hall coffee (at least we now know why the Froyle VH team have so much energy)
This was a new event for us, and we jumped at the chance to hold a trail run in the pretty village of Froyle, surrounded by incredible Hampshire countryside. Working with the Froyle community has been great, and we felt very welcomed by the friendly team.
The day started as all our trail events do… a little bit murky, but we kicked things off with our bright and vibrant colour dash. The recreation ground was soon filled with clouds of colour, and we even tricked some parents into helping! The run crew looked like they had far too much fun, and we may never know whether blue-coloured powder comes out of white trainers, but it was 100% worth it.
Next up was time for the grown-ups to get their (type 2) fun, and with the help of the lovely Phil Spencer, we set 180 runners off around the Hampshire countryside, accompanied by the sounds of a dying air-horn, expertly handled by Mr Spencer until its last breath - RIP airhorn 📯
As usual, the sun made an appearance when it was good and ready - just as our runners started crossing the finish line to the now familiar sounds of our cowbells and the gift of a bespoke nature-inspired medal.
Froyle was an absolute dream, and we had a brilliant day. We hope all our runners, big and small, did too.
If you ran and you’d like to leave us a review, please do - it helps us know whether we should be planning more events or going into early retirement, plus you could win a place in The Hard Yard or a cool beanie just for giving us your thoughts.
