Its time to introduce myself!

Hi, I’m Zoe and I’m the founder of Threads of Ostara, a company offering sewing and embroidery classes in North Wales and the surrounding areas.

I started Threads of Ostara to share my passion for sewing and embroidery; to showcase the power of hobbies for mental wellbeing; to reduce the barriers that prevent people from starting sewing.

Ostara is the spring equinox, it marks the time that the darkness of winter ends, the days get longer, and growth can flourish.
My lessons will help your sewing flourish.
We can grow your sew together!

Why come to my Sewing and Embroidery courses?
- I have been sewing all my life (including a GCES textiles!), but Sewing everyday for the last 5 years
- I am Passionate, Knowledgeable and Enthusiastic
(Feedback from previous students)
- I'm currently undertaking a Level 3 Award in Education and Training and have already completed the Level 2 training course
- I have 15 years experience working in roles empowering people to achieve their best
- I Trained in Mindfulness and believe that sewing can be a conduit to it
- I believe you can do it! (Even if you don't!)

Visiting North Wales or live here and looking for an interesting day? I recommend Ruthin for a day out for crafters and artists. Today I’ve visited
The Wayfarer Wool Shop a cavern packed full of woolly wonders, a great selection of yarns and knitted and crocheted items. Colour and texture rule and there’s something for everyone.

The next stop was Ruthin Market Hall / Neuadd Farchnad Rhuthun where several talented crafters sell their hand made wares.

Then ReSource crammed with everything for the crafter, sewist and artist, where I picked up two lovely books on machine knitting for £1 each.

Then down the hill to Lavinia Stamps and the wonderful Dreamatorium. Such an exquisite shop, beautifully curated stock set out over a number of rooms to explore and finally discover the paints, dyes, papers and detailed and intricate stamps.

Finally, my friend and I had lunch in the cafe at Ruthin Craft Centre and a mooch around the shop and the exhibitions.

I had to come home then, but my friend finished the afternoon with a visit to the historic Nant Clwyd y Dre house and garden.

We’re looking for donations of pre-loved teddy bears and soft toys.

If you have any soft toys that are no longer loved, played with, or needed, we’d be incredibly grateful if you could donate them to our scrap store at St Peter’s Square, Ruthin.
Thank you!
