🌸June brings longer days and fuller borders, with plenty to enjoy and maintain in the garden. Focus on regular watering as temperatures rise, and keep flowers looking their best by deadheading spent blooms.

🍓Early crops such as peas, lettuce, and strawberries may be ready to harvest, while taller plants may need staking to support their growth.

☀It’s also a good time to keep an eye on greenhouse ventilation and continue general maintenance to keep everything thriving through the summer.

FLOWER FRIDAY: Hydrangea

Hydrangeas are a popular ornamental plant typically flowering from late spring through summer. Their show-stopping blooms can be seen in shades of blue, pink, white, and purple - but did you know that the flower colour of many varieties can change depending on soil pH? Acidic soils tend to produce blue flowers, while alkaline soils yield pink ones.

We're delighted to have Derby Hydrangeas joining us to give a talk about their blooms - with the biggest collection of Hydrangeas in Britain (and 3rd in the world!), they certainly know their stuff.
