Dear huemans! 🐦‍⬛
MACHA ALIVE festival was born three years ago! I honestly can’t believe how quickly time flies. 🐦‍⬛
One morning at the end of September, as soon as I opened my eyes, a thought hit me on the head like a spark ⚡️
The voice said:
“Why isn’t there a celebration for Macha, the goddess of Armagh?”
That very morning I messaged Dr Jenny Butler, inviting her to be part of a series of talks and performances, all dedicated to Macha and her hill.
She said YES and that really gave power to the impulse. The seed of a festival was sown. 🌱

Macha Alive Festival has been, personally, a wild journey.
But it has also been truly amazing to witness the support, generosity and magic of so many creatives, academics, artists, community folk and musicians.
Without them, and their absolute skills, talents and dedication, this festival simply would not have existed.

This year will be the last year for Macha Alive, and I would really, really love for the people of and beyond to come and immerse themselves in the current of life that this land of Ard Mhacha is holding in her belly. 🌿🐍

We need you to help sustain events of this nature: grassroots initiatives, community-led events, gatherings born from passion and love for

Because if we don’t support them, they will cease to exist.

So please come this November 7th at Aonach Mhacha, 1pm–10pm.
I promise you will be blown away 🤯 by all that is contained within this festival. 🐦‍⬛
Come feel it. Come celebrate Macha. Come celebrate Ard Mhacha. Come be part of it.

We are looking to see and hear more from people who have a story to tell!
There are sooo many stories still buried that are calling to come out to the light, if you know anyone who might be holding a message, a story or even a unique experience in relation to Emain Macha, the bodies of water around it and/or about Macha, please email me to:
