💥ROSS’ ROTAX EXPERIENCE💥

Our Sprint Kart Secretary, Ross McIver, has launched a new initiative at the East of Scotland Kart Club aimed at giving drivers the opportunity to try Rotax racing.

Ross has personally purchased two karts to support the project and make it easier for drivers to experience owner level karting.

The karts available are:
🔻OTK Exprit chassis with a Senior Rotax EVO engine
🔻OTK chassis with a Senior Rotax Pre-EVO engine
🔻Junior Rotax Evo engine available for hire

Both karts will be supplied race-ready, including:
🔻Selection of sprockets
🔻Dry and wet wheels with good condition used tyres
🔻100ml bottles of pre-measured two-stroke oil

Please note: fuel will not be provided.

Full hire rules will be provided outlining the specific details of the agreement.

✅Supporting the Initiative✅

This project has been funded by Ross along with support from members of the ESKC committee. This venture is not funded by money raised by the club it’s a solo effort from Ross, who welcomes donations from anyone wanting to get involved and help out. He would greatly appreciate any donations of karting equipment that could support the initiative.

We have already received items including seats, wheels, and part-worn tyres. The long-term aim is to expand this programme and potentially provide Junior Rotax, Inter, Micro, Cadet and Bambino karts in the future.

If you have any spare parts or equipment you would like to donate, please get in touch with the club.

📝Flexible Hire Options📝

The hire agreement can be flexible depending on the driver’s experience and requirements.
🔻Saturday practice hire can be arranged for drivers who want to try a new class or experience owner-level karting.
🔻Drivers competing at a competitive pace and holding a Super KX or RS Clubman licence may hire the kart for a full race weekend at ESKC.

This offers a genuine arrive-and-drive opportunity in a competitive owner kart, representing a significant step up from rental karting and helping introduce more drivers to the sport.

The karts will be well maintained and race ready. Consumable parts will not be charged to the driver and will be replaced using hire fees. However, any damage caused during the hire period will be the responsibility of the driver.

💥 SUPER SERIES 💥

The first round of the Scottish Super Series will take place on the 23rd & 24th of May at NSKC!

It’s fantastic news that the opening round has secured sponsorship, with cash prizes awarded to podium finishers in every category.

Everyone please get behind Scottish karting and keep your calendars free for the Scottish Super Series this year.

Let’s get strong grids across every class and support the ASKC throughout the season.

That’s Round 3 of our Summer Series wrapped up. On behalf of ESKC, a big thank you to everyone involved—especially our marshals and officials who make these events possible.

🚨ROUND 3 SCHEDULE & IMPORTANT INFO🚨

Saturday:
Track Layout C

Practice starts at 10:00am

Please provide Ross McIver with your MSUK licence
Drivers under 18 must also provide a Parent/Guardian licence.
The Clerk of the Course requires copies ahead of Sunday.

Saturday Running Order:
1. Bambino
2. Honda 200
3. Micro Max
4. Inter Max
5. Junior Max
6. Senior Max

Sessions will be 10 minutes long and will run all day.

Please use Alpha Timing to:

Sign on
Register slick tyres
Register chassis
Register engines
There is no restrictions for wet tyres

Sunday:

Slick tyres must be registered on alpha barcodes will be checked by scrutineering post race. You must use the same set of slick tyres all day. If you have a puncture and need to change tyres you must notify scrutineering before your next race.

The running order will remain the same as Saturday to avoid confusion.

Scrutineering opens at 8:30am at Race Control

Karts must have wheels fitted

Drivers must attend scrutineering with their helmet, race suit, gloves & boots.

Drivers briefing will be held at Race Control by the Clerk of the Course at approximately 9:30am
(This will be announced on the day)

First karts on track for 3-lap practice starting with Bambino at approximately 10am

Race Format:
Practice
Qualifying
Heat 1
Heat 2
Final

Qualifying: 8 minutes
Heats: 8 minutes
Final: 10 minutes (all classes)

Visitors please park past the café to allow maximum paddock space for competitors.

Competitors please fill the paddock between Race Control and the Dummy Grid before moving up towards the café.

Be mindful of grass areas when parking heavy vehicles — use hard standing where possible.

Please take all rubbish home and help keep facilities clean and tidy.

The café will be open Saturday and Sunday.
