Thank you to nature writer Karen Lloyd for joining us from the Lake District for a weekend of activities with We Are Nature Collective 🌿 Following an insightful walk in Seaton Park yesterday, Karen and the collective read from their work in Cowdray Hall today and had a moving and powerful discussion around how we engage with, and look after, nature on our doorstep and beyond for now and the future. Thanks also to Mae Diansangu for fabulous chairing this morning!
With thanks to the University of Aberdeen Impact Fund and the Interdisciplinary Institute for supporting these events 🏞️

Thanks so much to Douglas Stuart for an amazing Aberdeen launch of John of John! It was a wonderful conversation between Douglas and Professor Timothy C. Baker of the University of Aberdeen, ranging from islands, textiles, masculinity and q***r life in 90s Scotland through to the resonances between Douglas’s three novels. Thank you to our great audience for their questions and for joining one of the biggest signing queues we’ve ever had! ❤️📚

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our three publishing and poetry events with Tapsalteerie poets across the past two days to launch our Ekphrastic Poetry Competition inspired by Aberdeen Artworlds exhibition! 🎨📝 Stewart Sanderson led an inspiring workshop this morning, following his reading alongside Sarah Stewart last night – both poets were wonderful! Earlier yesterday, Sarah was joined by Tapsalteerie founder Duncan Lockerbie to share their experiences of working in the publishing industry with lots of amazing advice for aspiring writers and publishers 📚

Thank you to Sunnybank School, ecowriter Rebekka Allgayer () and Aberdeen Biodiversity Centre’s Elizabeth Campbell for an amazing morning of pond-dipping and story creation! The pupils have chosen their favourite plot and characters inspired by creatures found in the pond, and Rebekka will now create a short story over the summer to be shared with them during our October festival 🎉
With many thanks to UoA School of Biological Sciences for supporting this project 🌿
