At PLAATO, we're proud to have as one of our customers. One of Salt Lake City's most decorated craft breweries, and 2026 World Beer Cup winners.

Uinta runs multi-step yeast propagations targeting 130bbl batches. Without constant sampling or a 24-hour facility, a lot can go wrong between steps. By the time you notice, you're already milled in for a beer you don't have yeast for.

At PLAATO, we've always been about experimenting. Trying to solve problems. Here's where PLAATO Insights was born.

Our CTO Simon and head of design Tom spent years working out of a brewery space. In return for making beer, they got office space. And in that time, they started experimenting beyond fermentation tracking.

What they wanted to see was: could they get all the data in one place? Plugging in one small device, they discovered a way to collate the data from end to end. Or, as Tom likes to say, "the complete story of your beer."

We began with fermentation monitoring. Now we're revealing what's inside the whole black box of breweries, from end to end.

We've come a long way from here to there.

Last week Andy from our US PLAATO team got to visit one of our customers Fullsteam brewery, a cornerstone of the Durham, North Carolina craft beer scene.

Fullsteam has built a strong reputation for thoughtful, locally rooted beer, and it was great to spend time with the team at the Rocky Mount Mills location.

VP of Brewing Ops, Jon, spends 1–2 days at the small batch brewing facility. When he’s not on site, Jon uses the remote viewing capability that comes with PLAATO Smart Fermentation to keep an eye on the mix of beer and other products being produced.

It means less time on the road. More time seeing inside the tanks to make great beer.

So it's win-win.
