In April 2026, Ineffable Intelligence raised $1.1 billion, the largest seed round in European history.

The company, led by David Silver, is creating AI that learns and discovers on its own, without relying on human-generated data. Before founding Ineffable, David spent more than a decade at DeepMind, where he led the development of breakthrough systems like AlphaGo, AlphaZero, and AlphaStar.

This November, David will join us at Slush 2026 to discuss the future of AI and the thinking behind one of the boldest bets in Europe.

Last week, Niki and Charlotte from the Slush Team visited Zurich and Munich, two cities helping shape Europe's deeptech future.

The timing felt right. Europe's startups are taking on increasingly difficult problems, and investors are paying attention. Last year, 32% of VC funding in Europe went to deeptech, up from 15% in 2015.

We’re seeing the same shift at Slush. In 2025, 20% of startups were deeptech, and 45% of investors actively invested in it.

As deeptech continues to grow, so does the need for capital, talent, customers, research partnerships, and the right people around the table. That’s why we’re doubling down on initiatives like the Spinout Track and Hardware Foundry.

Startups attending Slush are 3.5× more likely to raise funding.

And that's not all.

We just published the first-ever Slush Impact Report, and some of the findings blew our minds.

We looked at 2,100 European startups that attended Slush for the first time between 2022–2024 and benchmarked their performance against 230,000 European startups.

It turns out, startups that have attended Slush are:
🔹 7× more likely to raise from the world's top 0.1% VCs
🔹 Raising rounds that are 2× larger
🔹 Advancing to the next funding stage at 2× the rate

This correlation only solidifies our bet on relevance over scale. This year's Slush will be more curated than ever, with 10% fewer attendees and an even more tailored experience for founders and investors.
