At the beginning of May, a new stage of the Baltic Sea Trophy took place in Nida, Lithuania 🇱🇹⛵
Almost 100 young sailors from different countries came together to enjoy unforgettable days both on the water and ashore, sharing the true spirit of Opti sailing and friendship.
It was an amazing and unforgettable 4 days of racing, learning, fun, and new memories. Great winds, great people, and great emotions made this event truly special!
Thank you to everyone who made Baltic Sea Trophy in Nida such a fantastic experience — sailors, coaches, parents, and organizers. See you at the next stage! 🌊☀️

XVII INTERNATIONAL HELSINKI DOWNTOWN REGATTA

The second Baltic Sea Trophy Event was sailed in Helsinki in the Legendary HSS Yach Club Island. The largest and only international youth sailing event in Nordics, well known as Downtown Sailing Week (DTSW), was organized for the 17th July 7–13, 2025.

The event is internationally known for its high-quality organization and competitive racing, as evidenced by the participation of an international jury year after year. This summer, DTSW brought together young sailors around the world from 10 different countries in line again. A very surprising was there were more sailors from abroad than from Finland. Represented 10 countries – Canada, Turkey, China, Sweden, Norway, Great Britain, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Finland.

The week began with an intensive and high-quality training camp led by HSS’s top coaches Lucas Swan, Pablo Avila, and Mikaela Söderberg, followed by a four-day regatta with exciting racing and great atmosphere on the water. The first time ever HSS organized the junior disco in the west shed after the qualifications.

The regatta was sailed trough totally 8 races in two fleets. And the best were:

KUIVIŽI CUP 2025

3rd Baltic Sea Trophy started in Latvia, Salacgriva 12.-15.6.2025. The event has get together 80 optimist sailors, 30 ILCA sailors, and 4 420 crews. Super nice sailing conditions, waves, and venue once again!

Optimists got in four days regatta 8 starts. Last racing day was a problematic due to 2 discards what led sailors to take lot of risks. Several recalls, and black flag starts was seen.

Best overall sailors and excellent position to win legendary Baltic Sea Trophy after the race were:

XVI DTSW the second Baltic Sea Trophy event done!

One week international event with the clinic and race finished with 150 optisailors and 30 ILCA sailors fron 10 different contries. Weekend was very challenging due to warm climate effect that tok all the wind away. So, Thu and Fri qualifications with excellent conditions 15-20 knots. Sat and Sun no wind and both days AP A + swimming time. Kids had a fin time. DTSW 2024 winer was Niko Noponen from Finland, Congrats Niko!!

Super good event overall and all kids happu. International JuRy gave a good feedback for the race organization.

Baltic Sea Trophy - EVENT 2 DTSW

The second event continues in Finland, XVI International DownTown Regatta known better as the DTSW. One week events started Monday morning 8th July with Olimpic Sails clininc with 70 sailors around the World.

The DTSW regatta will start at Thursday with 150 sailors. We will see three fleets in qualifications, high quality racing area just front on the Helsinki, and International JuRy approved by Finnish Sailing Federation.

The first of three Baltic Sea Trophy event was succesfully organized 13.-16.6.2024 Kuivizu in LATVIA. Venue was super excellent, and more than hundred sailors from 6 different countries participate this four days regatta. Weather conditions were challenging due to warm high pressure effects. Due to that at Fri and Sat sailors got only one start per day. But we tried, and that is sailing.

Best sailors for the optimist were:

Baltic Sea Trophy - EVENT 1

The first BST event in Latvia, Kuivzi Cup start in few weeks with intensive CD Sails clininc and four days high quality regatta. There are alreafy 100 sailors made the entry for the race.
