Chicago Women in Architecture was founded in 1974, so we felt it was appropriate to create the exhibition title design using typefaces from the same era, Avant Garde and Babyteeth. For the color scheme, we referenced the CWA brand colors, creating a punchier version using bright luorescent lucites.

My first memory, or view into the world of design, was padding downstairs in my feetie pajamas and watching my dad in his design studio (our basement) using a drafting board, a T square, and an electric eraser. There was always a floor full of eraser shavings, similar to those bars with all the peanut shells. A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending the OFFF Festival in Barcelona. As I sat there watching the presentations, I was astounded at the amount of progress in the tools that designers use.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
