This is what happens when people wait till the last week with buying tickets. It really isn't rocket sience, promotors need our support, sure likes and shares are highly appreciated, following their (our page) helps alot getting seen. But costs to get the bands you want to see, such as flight accomodations, food, pick up at airports need to be arranged. So think twice before you tell your self ooow I do it once I know I can pay the flights or your own accomodation. Because before you know it it to late. We can only do it together! Ave it Large
🖤💀 HEMSBY PSYCHOBILLY WEEKEND 💀🖤
11th–14th December – IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
It is with a heavy heart and huge disappointment that I have to announce that Hemsby Psychobilly Weekend will no longer be going ahead this December.
Earlier this year, I made the decision to launch this weekend, putting a lot of time, effort, money and passion into making it something special. I booked some fantastic bands and acts and have spent countless hours advertising, promoting and speaking to people to try to make this event a success.
Around a month ago, I put out a message explaining that we really needed support to make this weekend happen.
I want to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who did buy tickets, shared the event, helped promote it and supported what I was trying to achieve. Your support has genuinely meant a lot to me.
Unfortunately, despite all the hard work, we simply haven’t sold enough tickets to make the event financially possible.
Events like this are extremely expensive to put on, with bands, entertainment, venue costs and everything else involved. Without enough people attending, it simply isn’t sustainable.
I also want to make it clear that this decision isn’t just down to me or the financial risk I’m facing personally.
We have had discussions with the venue, and the lack of ticket sales also has a significant impact on them. The venue relies on people attending and spending money at the bars throughout the weekend, and with such low numbers, they would also be losing out on the bar revenue needed to make hosting an event like this worthwhile.
Realistically, even if I were prepared to take the financial hit myself, there is a strong possibility that the venue would not have been able to justify allowing the weekend to go ahead either.
This is something that affects everyone involved, not just me as the organiser. It’s not simply a case of me deciding I don’t want to take the risk. The numbers have to work for the venue as well.
I really believed this could have been something special for the psychobilly scene, which makes this decision even harder.
EVERYONE WHO HAS PURCHASED TICKETS WILL RECEIVE A FULL REFUND.
I sincerely apologise for any disappointment or inconvenience this causes, especially to those who were really looking forward to it and had made plans to attend.
Please understand that this is not a decision I’ve made lightly. I’ve put a lot of myself into trying to make this happen, and after discussions with the venue and looking at the numbers, it has become clear that going ahead simply isn’t financially viable for anyone involved.
Thank you again to everyone who believed in this event and supported it. I’m truly gutted it has come to this.
Sometimes, no matter how much hard work, passion and effort you put into something, without enough support, it just isn’t possible.
Thank you all for your understanding. 🖤💀@
