This year we celebrated the 10th anniversary of NFMD in Berlin 🌟🧡

Through speed‑meetings at the European Film Market, film screenings, panels, workshops and the presentation of the prestigious HARPA Award at , we created an inspiring and engaging program together, across borders 🇫🇮🇩🇰🇸🇪🇳🇴🇮🇸🇩🇪

We already look forward to next year!✨

On saturday we celebrated the 2026 HARPA Nordic Film Composer Award! ✨🪉
A big congratulations to the Finnish winner for the score to the film «Little Siberia» by 🏆🇫🇮

The international jury recognized Panu Aaltio’s ability to build a musical bridge between the ordinary and the absurd. Ephasis was placed on Aaltio’s professionalism and inventiveness, through which he combines modern electronic sound design with traditional Finnish folk music.

Congratulations to all the nominees from the five nordic countries! 🇩🇰🇫🇮🇮🇸🇳🇴🇸🇪

We’re proud to highlight Rebekka Karijord as this year’s Swedish nominee for the HARPA Nordic Film Composers Award 2026.

🌟 Nominated Score: Raptures/Rörelser by Jon Blåhed

Rakel is a strict Christian believer living in the far north of Sweden in the 1930s. When her husband forms a sectarian movement, with directions straight from God, she has no choice but to join the increasingly explicit cult.

🌟 Nominated Score: Quisling: The Final Days by Erik Poppe

Five years of occupation during WW2 ends in Norway. Vidkun Quisling is in prison for treason and is to be held accountable for his actions. Can a priest help him find peace of mind? Can the traitor with big thoughts about himself repent?

We’re proud to highlight Anna Berg as this year’s Norwegian nominee for the HARPA Nordic Film Composers Award 2026.

🌟 Nominated Score: Dreams/Drømmer by Dag Johan Haugerud

Johanne documents her intense crush on her french teacher. Her mother and grandmother end up reading these intimate writings. They’re both horrified by the contents but taken by the powerful writing and story. Johanne navigates romantic ideals vs reality, exploring emotions of self-discovery, love, sexuality.

We’re proud to highlight Viktor Orri Árnason & Álfheiður Erla Guðmundsdóttir as this year’s Icelandic nominee for the HARPA Nordic Film Composers Award 2026.

🌟 Nominated Score: Poems: A Journey Through Icelandic Poetry by Robin Thomson.

We follow Icelandic composer Viktor Orri Árnason and soprano Álfheiður Erla Guðmundsdóttir on a musical road-trip through Iceland, where they set out to discover more about the poetry that inspired their album ‘Poems’, released on Deutsche Grammophon in late 2023.

Get to know the 2026 HARPA nominees! 🎶
First up: Anna Berg, Norway 🇳🇴

Anna Berg’s first orchestral work, Nuances of Water, is a piece about water in all
its forms. On Thursday, 13 November, it had its world premiere in Grieghallen with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra (BFO).
As an in-house composer, Berg has curated concerts across KODE’s many venues and had several of her own works performed, including this commissioned piece for BFO.
